And I am currently waiting on the job applications I submitted so hopefully I will. get a part time job soon. I am also planning on taking Psychology at the community college again. What are my chances at UCLA and what do I need to improve? Thanks for the help!

raise your SAT to over 2100. you have the grades, but not the SAT scores.

If it’s not too late you should self study Calc BC this year. If you do it next year most of it will be a review of AB topics, so you can save time and take another class, such as Stats AP if your school offers it. I’m a junior as well and I’m doing that.

Your SATs are really holding you back, totally out of step with your very strong academic record. If you could bring those up a bit I’d say you are in. Are you in-state?

bring up your SAT then u should be ok :)

thanks. i hear if you have a high enough GPA, its excusable that your SAT score doesnt need to be so high. is that true?

Presuming that you took 2 music classes each semester during your sophomore year (and not 4 music classes each semester), then your UC GPA is about a 4.05.

If your SAT was about a 1900 to 1950, then you would be a match for UCSD and a slight reach for UCLA. Get the SATs to about 2050+ with SAT IIs of at leat 650 each and UCLA will be a possibility (although even then it is not a guarantee). As it is now, you are only a match for UCI, UCSB, UCD, or UCSC. The others are slight reaches or reaches–but as I indicated, moving the SATs up can make the difference.

(In this regard, ADSFLX and I essentially agree, although he/she things you need a slightly higher SAT score than I think you do).

P.S. Remember that the SAT has to be the “best single sitting” score–the UCs do not “superscore” the SAT.
And good luck–I enjoyed my MBA experience at UCLA.

At UC’s, a higher than average GPA can make up for a lower than average SAT. However, with the average GPA of the accepted being 4.3 at UCLA, I’m not sure if it’s possible to have much higher since they cap weighted courses.

I would like to hear someone with a super low SAT get into UCLA

anyone knows a person with the lowest SAT into UCLA?

average GPA at UCLA is 4.3? I thought the avg UC GPA was 4.17… am i misinformed?

http://www.eurekareview.com/pdfs/presentations/UC_Admissions_Stats_2007.pdf

i dont know the exact score but i know my friends older sister, class of 08, got into ucla with an sat score in the 1500 range. her gpa was pretty solid and her EC’s were pretty strong so im sure its not all about the SAT score??

Well if u look at the UCs SAT Stats

UCLA accepts 10% of applicants with a 1,500-1,800 score range
so it’s not all impossible

they even accept 600-1400 range with a 4% admit rate

could someone chance me for usc, nyu, and ucsd as well? thanks!

hmmm you said the average is a 4.3 for UCLA??? well the average at my school for getting accepted to UCLA was 3.65 and SAT of 1900. So i guess it depends on what school you go to? Or does UCLA have there own GPA formula?

Ok so I got my SAT’s up a tad bit to 1820. I’ll be taking it for the last time during the fall of 09.

I just got into the National Honors Society too at my school and I am planning on registering for 2 classes at a community college this summer.

I think that you will be in much better shape if you raise your SAT to around 2050+. If you’re in-state, your chances are going to go way up. Good academic record though! Here’s how I chance you:

USC:Possibly in
NYU:Reach Right now (SAT)
UCSD:In
UCLA:Reach right now (SAT)

Could you chance me back, please?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/699897-am-i-track-ivies-duke-wake-vanderbilt-4.html

Just raise your sat slightly and you will be fine (although it won’t guarantee you admission, your chances will increase exponentially). Your GPA is excellent by the way.
