for URADMISSIONS

I have recently received my fin aid package and I still may not be able to afford UR. The other school I am contemplating gave me about the same fin aid but gave me a scholarship on top. Would it be worth while to contact UR fin aid and try to get more money or would it most likely not happen? I wouldn't expect the full amount but anything more would help. UR is my top choice but it's too expensive.

I’m sorry you are in that situation. I would say it is worth contacting the FA office just to discuss your situation with them and hope for the best. I don’t know that there is anything that might be able to change but I see no harm in talking through the situation with the experts. Good luck! I hope we’ll be able to have you at Richmond in the fall.

UR Admissions, I have another question for you. I took AP Statistics during the first semester of school, but now I am taking the regular Statistics class (the teacher in the regular class can explain the topics really well; in the other class I could barely understand anything.) My question (however silly it is) - Is it posssible that this change in classes will change my admission decision/scholarship award? I know that the admission decision is based on many factors, but this has been bothering me  Thanks!

helen, I can’t speak for UR Admis, but I know she’s really busy today/this weekend and might not be able to get to it soon enough, so I wanted to try to ease your mind. I would HIGHLY doubt that the change in that class would affect anything related to your admission status or your scholarship.

Oh, thank you for letting me know! This does make me feel better! I hope that UR Admissions will be back at some point to confirm :)

helenmes–I doubt that this will be an issue for us, but it is important nonetheless that you call to explain it to an admission officer who is looking at your file at the time. We expect students to report any material changes in their applications (a schedule change, an address change, a change in your conduct record etc.). We’ll just want to know why you made this choice.

Thanks 05, for yesterday, and for posting on this! It has been a crazy couple of weeks.
