for UW, 3.5=5%, 3.29=10%, 2.94=20% so is Rank>GPA????

At my school

what I said before is true

If I were to get a 3.5 I would be within the top 5% of my class of 550 students, If i were to have a 3.29, I would be within the top 10% of my class, If i had a 2.94, I would be within the top 20% of my class

My high school is pretty competitive, quite a few kids get into top colleges

So would colleges look more into rank

This is all out of 4.0

at my DD’s school a 3.5 only gets you top 15%

Yeah, they would.

And at my school, 3.5 gives u only top 26%. >_>

Ash…
What is your weighted GPA (does your school weigh?)

I’d make sure that the transcript specifies rank!!! yikes! You’re competing against other schools’ kids whose grading is easier.

Lucky… 3.5 at my HS was top 50%.

Yes, rank is most important as they look at you in the context of your school. They will also look to see if you;'ve taken your school’s hardest classes.
