For which schools does a music supplement have the greatest impact?

@SpiritManager: You are correct that the hurdle for passing the audition is substantial given the criteria that I mentioned above. But at the same time, for those students who are able to use their music supplement to help them get into Yale, they probably have more chance to pass that hurdle than other students who just want to take music lessons without credit.

I think sometimes we need to think outside of the box for what is a music supplement. It is not always playing classical piano or the violin. Places like Harvard and Yale want leaders. If you play guitar in a pop band and have actually played at different venues that can make a difference. If you have done an app that involves spotify and it has had lots of downloads that can make a difference. If you done an “internship” with a major group such as Suicide Squad that can make a difference. Harvard and Yale are always looking for the next Zuckerberg in all sorts of different fields
