UA is ranked # 336, which is not great, but that is the top rating for a public university in Alabama.

Auburn is ranked # 434

Both UA and AU do much better in US News annual rankings

^^^So I had dinner last week in Tuscaloosa with a UA grad who built a business that he sold for enough money to retire on at an age when most folks are slaving away at their jobs and careers. How in the world did he do it, given that he went to such a poorly ranked school?

He did it by accessing the educational resources he needed for success. Astonishingly, there they were at UA! Then he applied himself.

The guy whose net worth ranks 336th in a room full of millionaires is still rich. If you can’t achieve success in life with a UA education, just look in the mirror and you’ll see why.

I totally agree.

I think though that the Forbes list differs from US News’s list in that Forbes includes small liberal arts colleges in its list while US News only includes major universities in its list. US News has separate rankings for the smaller schools while Forbes lumps them all together.

Still, the criteria Forbes uses must be very different. For example, while Florida State ranks behind UA and AU in the US News rankings, it is placed much higher than the two in the Forbes list.
