Forbes Rankings

America's Best College - Forbes.com

Nothing to add.

I’m not too concerned with rankings. The fact that I’ve had to lend my room to USMA cadets who then rethink their choice of school after their stay is satisfaction enough for me.

Vedder’s notions are more grounded than many of these silly rankings. Until looking at it from a holistic POV. Then it looks just as nonsensical as the rest, especially in not only ranking institutions, but then putting a # on that ranking, suggesting some qualitative difference between 139 and 148 …or 12 and 512.

However, there is a very simple decisioin tree tool in this piece that offers students/parents a tool to ID GROUPS of institutions using variables like relative …cost, selectivity, cost, size, location, ratios, etc.

It’s no magic bullet, but it may be useful in developing an early list.

Congrats to West Point- well deserved.

Navy still has the CIC trophy however! ;)

I feel that the USNA and USMA have the same academic, athletic, and moral standards so having such a large gap in between the two makes no sense to me.
Besides in the end we all know its about the midshipmen
GO NAVY

LSU …YOU have nailed it with your illustration. What that’s about is entertainment, politics and selling magazines. Forbes can’t afford to have all the SAs in proximity, especially at the top. So they scatter the SA seeds, distributing them as tho there is some precision to this nonsense. Be assured, while my PR preference would like to see USNA at the top (where it SURELY belongs) …was it so, it would be equally nonsensical.

I’m w/ 2010 on this one …the CIC suggests who’s #1! Head-to-head! On the court! In the pool! Everywhere! Every way! And for nearly an infinity of seasons now!

But you know, USMA may have a football shot going forward. Why? They hired a USNA alumnus! Rumor has it, he’s sent the Army playbook to Coach K!

Go Goats! Whoop WPs and all the rest! :D

So I take it that BigGreen is taking an Op-Ed article and using it bolster his stance that Westpoint is better than Annapolis?

Smart thinking…

I think some of you guys should take a gander at the thread about this in the USMA forum. Some people are trying to spread some crazy ignorance about the service academies (apparently I go to a vocational school?).
