Forced triple on upper vs newton

so the only way to get guaranteed housing on upper is to volunteer for a forced triple. is it worth doing that or would i be better with a double on newton? i really like that upper is so close and convenient but i’m worried about the lack of room space and also closet space (since it will be 2 closets for 3 people) in a forced triple.
thanks!

If a lack of room space bothers you, electing for a forced triple is definitely not the way to go. I was debating this as well this last summer too though. Never ended up even being inside one throughout the whole year, as there are none on newton and never happened upon any when I went to upper, but they just seem like very uncomfortable situations. Comes down to how much you value convenience over personal space I suppose.

You should make a pros and cons list…

Do you make friends really easily, or do you want an extra push with the newton community? (not intended to offend newtonites, just that they seem to be closer than kids on upper)
do you need to save money? (you get money back at the end of the year)
are you worried about taking the bus?
how often do you go to the gym? (the Plex is on main campus)
are you a big soccer fan? (newton has the soccer fields)
do you plan on joining a lot of clubs? (upper would be a lot more convenient)
where are you from? if you’re from new england and can see your parents a few times a semester, you dont need a giant closet… if you only go back home for winter break, then you might need that extra space

You could request healthy living or if you’re a girl, the all girls dorm
