So yea, I got really lucky. Could someone explain how hard it is to have two closets with three people? Or how often people get detripled, and how it is to readjust with a new roommate?

Or are there any nice aspects that everyone leaves out?

I didn’t know anyone with a forced triple last year (I lived on Newton, so there weren’t any), but speaking as one of apparently a fair number of students that ended up having no roommate in a double for nearly my entire stay there, I don’t think getting de-tripled is unlikely since obviously no one wanted the other half my room until April.

Newton’s fine. I pretty much hated it because I liked to head to Cambridge or downtown a lot, and it’s a pain to take the shuttle to get from Newton to Main campus and then again to get to the T stop. The food is LOTS better though. You’ll get tired of Stuart food by the end of the year, but it’ll still be heads and shoulders better than what you’d get at Upper (unless you’re willing to walk to Lower).

It’s quieter and cleaner in Newton in general, not saying that parties don’t happen because they do, just that the next morning, you probably won’t step into anything disgusting in the elevator.

I complained about it all the time, but it’s really not that bad. Some students will tell you that the bus is a great way to meet people. Yeah, it is, for maybe the first couple of weeks, then no one ever talks to each other there again.

Given that I only lived on Newton, I can’t say if Upper is a better place to be, as such. I don’t think Upper is waaaay better or anything. You’ll be happy in either campus.

You will never be able to use the shuttle as an excuse for being late to class, so yeah, they run fine. They do run only every 15-30 minutes or so on weekends, but just watch out for that and you’re fine.
