What did they say at WesFest about forced triples for next year - how many freshman will be put in them? Prefrosh S stayed in a Butts double a week ago and didn't think it was that big - for a comfortable triple that is.

I took the housing tour and they told us there would be more triples this year for freshman, but I can’t remember the exact number. if you called or emailed reslife I’m sure they’d tell you how many since it’s not a secret.

There were no triples this year, so any triples would be more. I don’t think Reslife will know yet, it’s not May 1st. I had a few friends in triples my freshmen year, they were mostly dissolved by the end of first semester and you get a housing adjustment for the next year. One guy I know was in his triple for one afternoon, a room opened up and he still got the adjustment. There will always be a few no shows and some people who aren’t ready for college, so rooms open up.

Damn. I’d be so peeved if I got a triple. I really hope they don’t do that to us. That would so suck.

reslife said that right now they anticipate 12% of freshmen will be in triples

ugh.

10char

Would the triples likely be in Clark/Fauver? The Butts? All of the above?

Mostly Butts, a couple in Westco, I’d say.

Butterfields only.

They are also going to create triples by converting lounge spaces, not just by using large doubles, so not sure if that will just be in Butts.

Will any Butts singles be turned into doubles? I know some of them are really big.

What I have heard is:
-All changes will be in the Butts
-Some doubles will be turned into triples, but all singles will remain singles

I hadn’t heard about lounge space being converted, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it were true.

where are you getting that info about lounges? i can’t think of a single lounge on campus that could even possibly be turned into student rooms. that makes no sense at all. and why would they spend the money to convert the rooms just for a few years?

it’s most likely that simply a higher percentage of butt doubles will be converted into triples.

When my son was in the Butts as a freshman, we were told that the Butts doubles had originally been lounges. That’s why they’re so big. I can easily imagine them as triples.

I heard that former lounge spaces will be converted to triples (as well as large doubles) from the admissions office.
