<p>A lot of those types of students are the type that want to go to law and med school, which is why pre-med and to a certain extent prelaw are so damn competitive and cutthroat in college.</p>
<p>That is a result of upbringing. Asian families, just to give an example, tend to put emphasis on prestigious colleges and prestigious career choices. It's a stressful way to grow up but what are you going to do?</p>
