So that we can have a "community" of sorts until deciisons go out. Feel free to be anxious.

Hey guys! all Fordham 2015 EA applicants are wanted here. :)

So that we can have a "community" of sorts until deciisons go out. Feel free to be anxious.

So if there are viewers here, I have a question: I’m an international student, so how does Fordham mail the decision letters? do they send it by courier like DHL and Fedex or just the regular USPS?

I applied EA to Fordham. Getting anxious…I heard they mail them out on the 15th…anyone heard similiar news? Good luck to all.

ahh i’m nervoussss. I really hope i get in and i get some sort of financial aid. Does anyone know when they maill out financial aid information? is it later on in the year or what?

@mkb, I really don’t know, I thought we were supposed to know by the 15th??

@italiangirl, I asked someone from the admissions office (by the automated FAQ) and they said the estimated financial aid letter would come in February. I even thought it would come this december.

Also very nervous.

I’m really not sure. I thought we were guranteed to know by x-mas. Who knows? I’m so nervous though, this is all I can think about.

does anyone know if they will notify you of scholarships in December? I’m hoping for the semifinalist scholarship

I applied EA and I’m not nervous at all. Not trying to sound arrogant, but yeah…it’s my safety.

Anyways, how will we get the decision? Email or “snail mail”?

@Silence, I think its snail mail. What are the other schools you’ve applied to?

Binghamton University, Brown University, Cornell University, Harvard University, Macaulay Honors College at Hunter, New York University, University of Pennsylvania, St. John’s University, Stony Brook University, Yale University

I’m definitely getting more and more anxious. I loved the school when I visited and I really hope I can be done with applications!

Aren’t we supposed to get an estimate of Financial Aid if we submitted the CSS Profile? I don’t know how that works with specific scholarships though. (For example, the semifinalist scholarship – I’m hoping for it too. Congrats, laxking!)

hey guys! do you know if Fordham has mailed decisions yet?

@Auntie, I also asked that to the Automated FAQ and theys said, the “estimated” one would be mailed in Feb.

well let us just see. :)

My son (FCRH Class of '11) was admitted EA. At that time, he found out he was getting a Dean’s Scholarship worth at least $10K, but the amount was upped significantly when he received his preliminary award letter in February or March.

My daughter is awaiting her EA decision. Although Fordham is not her first choice, I’m hoping that if her first two choices don’t pan out, it will move up on the tarmac…my son has had an excellent and multi-faceted experience there, featuring a little bit of everything (Queens Court, club sports, Honors Program, Global Outreach, study abroad and a year and a half as a Resident Assistant. As my husband (FCRH Class of '76) often says, it’s one yearly check he’s never minded writing.

Good luck to all those waiting for happy news.

P.S. Does anyone get rejected outright when they apply EA – or are there only two possibilities: admission or deferral?

They had 9800 EA applications. I’m sure some of them got rejected.

for what it’s worth. I spoke to Fordham today. The person I spoke to insisted that decisions were not necessarily coming out tomorrow. That it was any time before christmas, starting tomorrow.

Yes some people get rejected.

@Redemption: I heard we get the decisions though “snail mail”, so it has no time…

the original letter from them said they mail them “on or about” the 15. So I’m hoping they will be sent to Connecticut by at least saturday

Just got deffered from georgetown so I really wish fordham will give me the fat envelope. It’s one of my top schools along with BC.

For those that may, just may get deferred…here is some advice. In the deferral letter they suggest you may write an additional essay. If you really like Fordham, write the essay.
