Fordham 2021 ED/EA Thread

Hopefully! @emmataylor04 I know that they do care more about the transcript but it just makes me so nervous lol

I’m also a first gen college student but I’m not sure if that helps anything

@collegehopeful101 I heard that colleges look at that but idk about fordham specifically

Does anyone know around what time on the 19th we should expect to get the email notifying us to check our portal? I’m wondering if it’s like the ACT where its released exactly at 12:00am. I heard 5PM EST but not sure where that information was received from.

ok so i know its super close to the date of our decisions being sent out but can someone chance me for admission? I know i will probably get deferred from EA but I want to know if I have a chance of getting in at all.

I am applying to the gabelli school of business at rose hill and im pretty sure i picked management as my major.

You’re fine, Jesus. I got the acceptance last week and I had basically what you had for grades and stuff.

@yeezyszn is Fordham rolling? How would you have been accepted already? Sorry if you’ve already been asked this question!

@quoderatuhhh some students received likely letters basically confirming early that they got in. it’s not rolling, only some students get it, but it doesn’t mean you won’t get in if you didn’t get one. (i didn’t lol)

Hey guys,

For those of you who got likely letters, would you mind sharing your stats? I’m a little concerned that I didn’t get a likely letter, especially considering that Fordham is kind of my safety school. I got a 2240 on the old SAT, I’m number 3 in my class (out of 98), I’m taking 6 AP classes this year, I play varsity sports, I have leadership positions in clubs, and my grandparents even went here… Anyone know what’s up? Should I be concerned? Also, I know people in my state (RI) already have received likely letters based on what people have posted on here.

Thanks!

What school in ri neighbor? also from ri here, 33 act nmsf, 8 aps through this year, 7/198, pretty good stuff outside of school. It’s probably random though, i certainly wouldnt worry about it kg. I dont see a way you wouldn’t make it.

To all those who recieved “likely” emails - did you apply via Common App or the Your Choice application? Looking for a pattern. Seems Fordham uses third party “solicitors” to increase application pool and I’m wondering if “likely” emails are somehow associated. Thanks for your responses. Good luck to all.

I wouldn’t worry about not getting a likely letter. It seemed like last year some of the people who got them didn’t even get offered any merit scholarships. One girl even got a full scholarship and did not get a likely letter. My daughter is from RI and did get one. She has 35 superscore ACT, 3.8 unweighted gpa, 7 AP’s, varsity sports and plenty of ec’s. She is a brilliant writer, so I feel that her essay was top notch and she also has really good teacher recs. She comes from a private school that is know for it’s rigorous curriculum. She submitted her application through the common app and was offered a fee waiver from Fordham to apply. Hope this helps!

For people who got likely letters, what exactly says on the letter??? Because I got a letter from fordham but it didn’t look like a likely letter… It just said , "we would like to continue to process your financial aid… " blah blah and explained how I was missing my noncustodial profile or something…

Can anyone tell me where on the portal the application decision will be? My portal just has a list with the application checklist, and the SATs scores. There isn’t anywhere to “click” for a link to acceptance. Just getting worried as I didn’t get the likely letter or the follow up letter for FA (although I submitted the FAFSA & CSS in October already). I would hope I’m competitive, but maybe not? SATs 1390 (690 M; 700 V); 3.86 wtd GPA thru 11th (low 9th gr year), although 12th is 4.83 w/5APs (10 APs total). I’m from SoCal.

Don’t know how to embed but here’s what it said. Formatted weird to get around the blocker on on here

Applied EA to Rose Hill. However Fordham is not 1rst choice. Kinda low on the radar. I am from MD. And I only applied b/c they gave me a fee waiver. My state school UMD - College Park and CWRU are my top 2.

Yikes i wish i had gotten the likely letter :frowning:

I applied EA to Rose Hill! Can’t wait to hear back!!

Its possible likely letters only go to accepted students who live within a certain radius of where they are holding an admissions event. Fordham is a great school but it is often used as a safety for high-stats students that don’t get into their top choices. They are probably trying to get them hooked on Fordham early in the game.

^This. I think that is the most likely scenario (no pun intended)
