Hi everyone! I am a freshman at FCRH right now and thought I would share my admission experience with all of you hopefully to ease some of your worries. I applied ED and was accepted with 3.5 GPA and an 1860 SAT score. I had great extracurriculars, lots of honors/AP classes, showed a lot of interest, and had a lot of legacy at Fordham. Last year they said they would notify us by December 20, and we got our decisions on December 17. On the day you find out, you will get an email around 3 or 4 pm that says that your admissions decision is ready on the portal. You then log on to the portal and view the admission decision. I hope that helps some of you. Also, I do remember getting a lot of calls from the office of financial aid in the weeks leading up to my acceptance. I love Fordham so much and highly recommend all of you to come! It’s such a great school with amazing people and opportunities. Good luck to all of you!
@nrvsabtcllg this was my issue. what they wanted in lieu of that if you’re not in contact with them is a notarized letter from a family friend, a letter from your guidance counselor, and a letter from you explaining why/how you no longer have a relationship with your noncustodial parent.
@nrvsabtcllg I’m hoping we hear by Thursday, I read a forum on 2019 saying they got their decisions on the 15th
I haven’t received the financial aid email or the early acceptance email…should I be concerned? Fordham is already a reach for me anyway, but this waiting game is killing me :((
Do I still have a chance with a 26 act? I got a 28 on science, 27 on English, 26 on reading, 24 on math. But my gpa is still ok?
Yeah @collegehopeful101 you def still have a chance with a 26 ACT don’t worry. You’re fine. I feel like Fordham really focuses on ECs so if you don’t necessarily have competitive stats but rly great volunteering stuff, you’re good.
If you got the financial aid letter but you mail your documents late (they might possibly receive it past the 19th), will it affect my admissions decision? Because I keep hearing from others that financial aid doesn’t affect your admissions but I don’t know if that’s actually true…
Anyone have a guess as to when decisions will be announced?
Honestly, I think at 5pm tomorrow they may release them. Not too sure though. I’m feeling definitely before or on Friday.
Anyone from NY state notified at this point ?
Does anyone know if Fordham strongly goes only on SAT scores ? What if a student had a weighted 4.7 gpa …4.1 UW. Lots of ec and leadership, great letters… but test scores are severely average ??
Are they going to release early decision and early action the same night?
On the website it says it will be announced by December 19th. I think it will be right at that time because to my understanding, they were slightly late on decisions last year.
Last year decisions were released like two or three days early… And the year before that it was the same deal. I’m pretty sure that it should be similar this year, too.
@raleighstudent1450 the previous two years they came out at least 2-3 days earlier than the posted decisions date
