Fordham Admissions on Access Portal

My D logged in today and although it is vague as to whether or not she has been accepted, all of her merit aid and FA is there. I guess it means she's in.

Does anyone else have this? Just log on, go to FinAid and click on "messages".

I too am interested in this…

I called Admissions and asked if the decisions had been mailed yet and was told “no, they won’t go out until the beginning of April.” She offered to check that all materials were received and ended with “yeah, end of next week”.

@tabor1-did you try logging on? Someone on a previous post, put up the link. It’s the other thread “Does Fordham offer Application Status…” about the Fordham portal. You don’t need any special info to log on, just name & birthdate.

My D is anxious to see if anyone else has this info up there yet!

I just went on for my son and although it does not say he has been accepted I can see a merit scholarship he has been awarded.

I also can see a scholarship there for about $10,000.

Cool! Congrats!!! I hope :-P

Where to you see the messge tab. When I log on, under the Applicant tab, there is Financial Aid and then Financing Fordham on-line, I clicked on both, but did not see “message” tab. very anxious

I can’t see anything either I also am not able to see if all my documents have been received. and @tabor1 my college counselor said they were sent out last friday, but maybe see is wrong

I’ve tried contacting them and asking if there’s a correlation and they’ve just said you will find out April 1st. Does anyone know anyone with past years’ experience?

Where are you logging on?!? Can someone please PM me a link?
Thanks!!!

I just spoke with the mom of a current RH freshman and she doesn’t recall any form of advance notice prior to getting the acceptance letter in the mail. However, she was waiting on a tuition exchange decision, so her situation is probably not applicable to most potential students. By the way, her daughter absolutely loves being at Fordham and all that NYC offers. She did warn me that it’s expensive because of the not so great dining options on campus. She also mentioned that another student that graduated from my daughter’s high school just transferred this year as a junior (her second transfer) and now has two excellent internship offers for this summer in spite of being behind a bit due to switching colleges more than once.

Thanks for the information! I’m wondering if the explicit description of a scholarship on the financial aid page suggests that more than FASA and CSS were consulted, and thus provides grounds for suspecting admittance because of having to look at the student’s specific application.

Madfusion, I think you are on the right track with a relationship between the messages other posters have gotten regarding merit awards and admission. Even though the Financial Aid rep I talked to this morning said they “don’t pull the trigger on releasing aid package information” until after admission notifications are sent, it seems odd that the people that are getting those messages all got some type of merit award message. The mom of an RH freshman I just spoke with said that they got the acceptance letter first, then financial aid. But as I said her situation included an unusual form of funding.

Last year, many people discovered what appeared to be acceptances at a number of colleges by checking for online FinAid info or the ability to pay an enrollment deposit. My S found out he was admitted to a couple of schools this way and honestly it didn’t make getting the mail any less exciting. Fordham wasn’t one of these schools though bc he was a Theatre applicant and found out early by letter. I will say that it isn’t foolproof but it has been known to be a pretty good indicator of an acceptance although admissions will not come out and tell you that. For Fordham you have to set up an account at https://my.fordham.edu/cp/home/displaylogin</a> .

BUT…they are updating this daily and so your FinAid info might not yet be posted even though you were accepted. AND…your final package might not yet be posted either. That is what happened to us last year. We knew he was accepted but we found out about the Loyola Scholarship online. We were happy but it was only for $8k which barely put a dent in the tuition. I never thought to check back but when we received the final package, there was an additional award listed which was greater than the Loyola. The bottom line is that you won’t have confirmation of an acceptance or your final FinAid package until you get it in the mail. Good luck! :)

Thank you Tabor1 and Sandkmom, I guess I’ll be waiting until April 1st!! It’s great to get this feedback.

My daughter was accepted EA and was awarded the Jogues Scholarship. I was hoping for more (like everyone else!) So, it sounds like she could get more around April 1st?
Thanks for your advice.

sandkmom, do you recall when you received your final FinAid package? D has received three letters updating her financial aid/gift aid since she was accepted in Dec. The last fin aid ltr was in February. I am curious to know the final status so we can make a decision on affordabilty.

I got my acceptance package in the mail today with a Jogues scholarship and tuition award.

Were you RD and do you happen to live on the West Coast? Thanks!
