It would appear there is some confusion about University Housing that I would like to clarify for all.

Students, when applying to Fordham, have the option to apply as a resident or as a commuter applicant. When students apply as resident applicants, the Committee on Admission has the option to admit them with, or without, a space in University Housing.

Those offered admission with housing will have this explicitly noted within the admission letter. Those not offered admission with housing will also have information within the offer of admission explaining this.

For those students offered admission with a space University Housing, they are **guaranteed a space in housing **for each of their four years at Fordham (assuming they meet all housing deadlines and abide by housing rules).

Those not offered housing will have this noted within the offer of admission. These students will have the opportunity to place their name on a waiting list for University Housing. The waiting list would not be utilized until sometime this summer if space develops in University Housing. There is no way of knowing now if that space will materialize.

I hope this information provides clarity to issues related to admission and housing at Fordham.
