I have had a rigorous course load with mostly honors and AP classes. I will have taken 5 AP classes.
For my EC’s - school volleyball 9-12 & senior captain, school basketball 9-11, school softball 9-10, AAU basketball 9-10, two community service clubs out of my school for all four years, treasurer for french honors society, helped organized a local epilepsy walk for a family friend the past four years, church youth group with summer mission trips, lead orientation group for the upcoming freshman, facilitator for the NAMES program to talk about stopping bullying, & some work experience in an ice cream shop over the summer.
Thank you so much! Any responses will be appreciated!!!
You are a competitive applicant that’s within the 25-75 average, but it’s still a crap shoot. I’m not sure if the 1970 SS is low or not. I can tell you that from my own experience, I just got deferred to RD from Fordham with a 3.67, 32 ACT (2100 equivalent), 7 APs, debate captain, other good ECs like yours etc. However, while deferred from Fordham, I got accepted into NYU…
So basically, you are an applicant worthy of a serious look/acceptance by Fordham. Your ECs are very impressive and show determination to serve your community (which you should reinforce in your essay). The scores aren’t too much of a problem; again, if you’re in the ballpark, college admissions really just is a crapshoot.
Best of luck, and I hope you got in! (Since decisions came out haha)
@vineyardvines thank you for the response! And I got in!! And congrats on your acceptance to NYU! Best of luck in the future!
@bopper919 No problem! I hope to see you do big things in NYC
I agree that is definitely hard to tell. We have similar credentials, and I was accepted early action, so I think you definitely have a strong chance. However, I have heard of people with technically stronger scores not getting in. I think Fordham is weighing heavily on ECs and the essay this year.
