Do you have an F-1 Visa already?

Son received Merit Aid offer today around 1.
$27.5K that includes Fordham Loyola Scholarship and Fordham Tuition Award.

We received the same as well. Cost will around 50K per year

Received $23.3 merit/need aid leaving it at about $52K per year. This is the highest priced school D21 has been accepted to so far (by far) and is too high for us.

We got our package today and declined immediately. We have gotten tremendous offers from other schools. Not worth 30K out of pocket for us.

I’m an American citizen, so yes?

Just got the package today - same for me. Around 40K, which we can’t afford

We will most likely decline but I did email admissions and financial aid this morning to see about any additional funds. Our son would like to keep it in the running but his package doesn’t even cover room and board. I assume it will not be an option for him but going to see what happens. He has generous offers from other excellent schools. Fordham is by far the most expensive and I can’t justify it for undergrad.

If you talk to the financial aid office they can sometimes bring the cost down a smidge to make their school more affordable.

Can you tell me his stats, what he wants to study, and what your EFC is? I just want to compare.

A smidge is what I assume might happen and we need a wee bit more than a smidge  we will see how it all shakes out.

I am sure everyone already knew it, but just to post the sticker price for RH campus in the financial document:

Tuition and Fees. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .$56,161
Room and Board. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $19,065
Direct Charges. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .$75,226
Books and Supplies. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .$1,040
Other Educational Expenses. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .$3,010
Indirect Costs. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $4,050
Total Estimated Costs. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .$79,276

Which means you got 40K scholarship/grant? (since the total price is around 80k. 80k-40k scholarship = 40k out of pocket)

I think 40K scholarship is more than a lot of offers I see from Fordham.

34K scholarship/grant, 41K out of pocket. I suppose the 4K not accounted for is the “indirect costs”

Does the 34K include any need based aid? Can you share your child’s stats?

Loyola Scholarship: 12.5K
Federal: 7K
Need-based aid: 14K

Is this what is meant by stats? - GPA 3.98 W, SAT 1420, all IB Courses.

Is the 7k Federal a loan?

Yes, thanks.
