Anyone know if it is easier to get in RD once you are deferred? I was expecting to get into Fordham EA but did not. I took the SAT again and let my admissions counselor know that, but may have not even raised my score so we’ll see. My gpa is the highest it has ever been this year so hoping that helps. Anyone know what they look at differently once you’re deferred or do they just consider the same materials again? Hoping for the best, really upset I was deferred but trying to stay positive. Good luck everyone and please let me know if you know anything about deferred applicants.
@hopefulwfu44 My S was also deferred from one of his top schools. The advice he received was to contact his admission officer every few weeks or so/once a month to let him/her know that the school was still at the top of his list & also to update them on any new information (such as new SAT/ACT scores, mid term grades, a term paper you wrote with an awesome grade, awards you may have won in a winter sport or contest, etc.). I do think the squeaky wheel gets the grease to a certain extent – don’t be a pest, but be pesky! Fordham, while selective, has a relatively low yield (only 14% of admitted students end up going there). They WANT kids who will commit to them. Good luck to you & also know that there are lots of other great options out there should Fordham not work out!
