Hey! So I was wondering if anyone would like to contribute to this thread. I figured we could all share our audition experiences and keep each other posted as things happen.

Fordham- I auditioned at the Lincoln Center campus. There were A LOT of people there! I was a little surprised because it was more than I've seen at any audition I've been to! Granted I haven't been to dozens, but still!
I got there about 2 hours early and ran into a few people that I know thru friends. That was comforting. They basically told me that the auditors just see your monologues and you leave. Occasionally, they will interview you. I went in after using the practice rooms and gave them a selection of pieces I could perform. It was the one audition I've had where someone straight up said "do this piece" rather than "what do you feel like doing at the moment?" I did my two pieces and received a "great work" from the two female auditors. The male auditor said nothing. He just kept writing. He felt very cold in a way. I'd call him a "silver fox" if I had to describe him. I asked the students I knew if it was bad that they didn't interview me. They said it was fine. Still, this was the one audition where I was completely dumbfounded.

Emerson- Great experience. I did one of my monologues. The auditor worked my piece with me and asked me to make an adjustment. I made the adjustment and walked out with a business card. He said he didnt give it to everyone and for me to put it in my pocket. I did as he asked. By far the first audition I had that day where I felt like I aced it. Still, I wonder if that goes for everyone. I know schools like to "butter you up" or so I hear...

DePaul- Just like Emerson, it was a great audition. I did my monologue and had a rather long interview. We talked a lot about what I've been up to and why I like the program. I did the class they teach and they liked my work. They pointed out my partner and I (I had an MFA applicant as a partner) as two people who got the exercise. They asked us what our "commands" were and I got a few chuckles from Jason and Dexter when I revealed my command was "f**k me." I was in the moment and didn't really think to articulate my command in a more tasteful way. Tragic, I know. They then pointed out two people that didnt work with the exercise. I was a little uncomfortable with that but understand that they were curious as to why those two had the experience they did. We moved on to the scene work and my partner and I went thru the scene 3 times making adjustments and seeing where it went. They asked us what was going on (its one of those vague "A to B" scenes) and we told them we felt like we were a couple contemplating having an abortion. Jason said he got that feeling. They said to me "we'll see you in the future." It felt like a good audition. Too good to be true! I really like their program as well as Jason and Dexter. The "sophomore slaughter" scares me though! Still, I walked away feeling that it was a program I'd do well in.

LIPA- These guys snatched a beautiful young woman and myself right away as we were coming out of Emerson! It was a little strange but we just went with them! I did two monologues and was asked to do a third. They then made an adjustment on my second and asked me to sing. We had an interview about what my "mission as an artist" was. They asked if I could come to a callback later on in the day. I had a flight at 5:45 (that ended up getting snowed in!) and told them I couldn't make it. They then asked if my contact info was up to date. I was given a packet and I left the room to get to my Fordham audition.

In conclusion: I'm not very familiar with LIPA's program. They were a great team of auditors and I really liked them. I LOVED my DePaul audition. I really hope that works out. I know it's competitive though! Emerson was great. It's Fordham that baffles me. Did anyone else audition on campus and have a different experience?

Whether your experiences be different or similar, please post them! Best of luck to you all! And if you are on the East Coast and traveling back from unifieds, PLEASE travel safely!
