Hey everyone,

I just got my estimate yesterday and Fordham is only giving my family 16k a year in grants..This is not nearly enough. How flexible is the financial aid office on changing their grants? Also do you guys think that this amount would be consistent across schools like GW and Villanova? Thanks!

Not quite sure how flexible they are with grants. However, I know my original FA package was 10K and when my family appealed for financial aid, they received enough for me to go. I know we got the Pell grant and an extra 4K to sustain for this year (It’s non-renewable, so I’m crossing my fingers we have income by next year). There was one other grant, I believe. However, if you plan to appeal, just keep in mind that the process is detailed and they want to know everything. I applied RD, and did not get a decision regarding the appeal until the day before the national response date.

Also, I know some people are against this here, but consider taking out loans if you can. Only do this if you really want to go to Fordham or whatever school it is you decide to go to and do not have any other options in regards to money.

Unfortunately, I don’t know about the other schools. However, I am sure someone here can answer that question.

Best of luck!
