Daughter has narrowed down to these three.
Loyola has attraction of strong bio, life sciences, pre-med,
Santa Clara very good overall and closer to home.
Fordham highest ranked.
I graduated SCU so I know it pretty well. Hardly know LUC or
Fordham.
If anyone has feedback regarding any of these two it would be
appreciated as decision time is near.
Thank you

Did you visit Fordham? Can you? California is very different than New York. There are myriad threads here discussing all the issues and factors for your reading pleasure and edification. Good luck.

SCUDAD, what does your daughter plan to major in? Does she like big cities, or quiet suburbs? Does she prefer Cali weather, or wants to experience the four seasons of the East coast? These are important questions to consider.

These are 3 terrific Jesuit schools she is considering and all have strong pre-med. It is really important she visits all three to help her decide as each will have a different feel.

I went to Fordham and my D just graduated. We each loved it, though 30 years apart in graduation. There is a good reason why Fordham is considerd a “Catholic Ivy”, but there is also something to be said for Legacies (children of alums) going to the same school. In this day and age, the biggest factor may be the best financial package offered.

Thanks for your feedback.
Daughter is bio major and likely pre-med.
We toured Fordham and were very impressed and know it is very highly regarded. Distance from home is a little scary for her right now but I would say Fordham might be top choice.
Loyola we found to be very strong in bio, medical and life sciences. We’ll be there next week end to check it out.
Thanks again for your comments.

One last thing; as your D is considering pre med, I suggest you look at reseach opportunities offered at each school. Fordham I know is very strong in pre med (over 90% acceptance rate by premed council) and a reason for that is research. There is a very strong parnership with the Albert Einstein School of Medicine where undergraduates can take classes and research opportunities with the NY Botanical Gardens and the Bronx Zoo, both just across the street from Fordham. As I said, all three schools will provide a solid education…it may just come down to cost.

I wish your D the best of luck in her process.

I agree that there are advantages to each school, so it’s a tough choice. A close friend of ours had the same choices and her DD went to Santa Clara, because she wanted college to be a whole new other experience, not down the road. Santa Clara would be the "local " choice for you. Loyola is much more like a LAC in terms of how things work, a much smaller school than Fordham, and that might be something that is of importance and helpful to your DD. I have a son who so thrived at the LAC he chose that I have to say, it was truly a wonderful choice for him.

Good luck and congrats to your D for having these nice choices.
