Fordham moves up in the Fortune 500 Rankings

I know, another damn ranking.....but this is different.

In 2009, The Paris School of Mines publishes the rankings of the top 377 world universities (out of some 4,000) that placed executives in Fortune 500 companies. The original list had Fordham at 63rd... a pretty darn good place to be.

Someone came into my office to tell me that the rankings had changed, that the list was redone (3rd edition) and Fordham was now ranked 16th! tied with Cornell!!!! Ahead of many well known schools!

<a href="http://www.mines-paristech.eu/About-us/Rankings/professional-ranking/#7%5B/url%5D">http://www.mines-paristech.eu/About-us/Rankings/professional-ranking/#7</a></p>

I think Fordham is better than 55th or whatever USNews ranks it.

But I don’t think its 33 spots above Yale lol

Remember, this is a unique ranking based on how many alums from a given school have a CEO or executive position in a world-wide Fortune 500 company. As famous as many schools are, i.e. Yale, their strength might be academic, scientific, legal etc. This list is reporting that there are more Fordham alums filling top positions in Fortune 500 companies than Yale.

Amazing but true!

If there was a report of alums who OWN big companies, then I have no doubt Yale and other Ivy-types would top the list.
