Fordham or Syracuse?

Recently, I have got into two of my dream schools, but I don't know which one to attend. For Fordham, I got into Rose Hill college. For Syracuse, I got into iSchool.

Can anyone tell me which one has a better education?

Lol, we’re in a sorta similar situation. I got into Syracuse, and now I’m waiting for my decision from Fordham. So I’m interested in this question :)

Have you visited either schools yet?

I’m in the same exact spot as you. Honestly I’m leaning towards Syracuse because I feel as if they have the best of everything… Great school spirit, excellent professors, required internships and a great network… I’ve also visited both the campuses and Syracuse is much nicer without a doubt. The only probably with the two of them is that they’re so expensive. Also if you don’t like the cold, Syracuse probably isn’t the place for you. At the end of the day it all depends on what you’re looking for…

I have visited both schools. I like both of them.

Actually i have a question about Syracuse. I got into College of Information Studies, and that’s my second choice major. I know nothing about that college. Can anybody tell me something about it (reputation, career, etc.)? thanks.

nokiaburn: I don’t know much about the iSchool, but since it is your second choice major, you can declare dual enrollment with any other college at Syracuse without having to do anything special (meet any requirements), except for Newhouse there are certain requirements for dual enrollment/transfers into Newhouse. So it really doesn’t matter that much of how good the iSchool is if you want to major in something in another school, which it seems like you do.

Different schools but similar schools. Fordham is Jesuit. Syracuse is secular. Syracuse is top drawer athletic program and teams, Fordham is Div I-A but struggles on the field/court. Syracuse is …well, in Syracuse…upstate. Fordham College at Rose Hill is in the city…Bronx to be exact. Syracuse is much larger. Fordham is smaller and more intimate. Fordham had U2 play on campus three weeks ago…for free! Both are highly respected business schools. Both have good overseas programs of study (and share some of them in fact). You will have bigger classes at Syracuse.

But the “quality of education” factor is very similar in “general terms” and its up to you to decide where you feel the best fit and to discern specifically what you are looking for in a college experience and education.

Congratulations, by the way! I have my bias. I’m clearly in Fordham’s camp. But you are the one going to college.
