Hey everyone, I keep seeing people mentioning Dean's and National Merit scholarships and I was just wondering how you guys found out that you were recipients of them. Thanks!

I am wondering the same exact thing!

They were with the acceptance in the MyFordham portal. They should also be in the original or corrected Personal Information Profile, sent through regular mail. They will also be in the acceptance packets, which students will receive next week.

I got 20K in merit in my PIP but got no notification of the Dean’s scholarship in my official acceptance? Very confused.

My son also got about 20k on his pip. His letter says he only got the Deans scholarship for 10k. We are also very confused.

On the website it says I got the deans scholarship of $10000 and that they will mail a packet soon

What’s the personal information profile and when did you get it

Do you need to have filled out fafsa or CSS to get merit aid package

@haha778 I haven’t received a personal information profile either. My parents called the number that Fordham sent out in that letter though for student financial aid services. I’m wondering if I forgot something?

Unless something has been changed in the last few years when you get your packet you will see a notice in there that tells you that in order to be considered for Merit Scholarships you need to fill out FAFSA by some time in February. Some of the big scholarships are given out just based on application numbers. For some of the lesser ones (up to around $8,000 per year for 4 years I believe) they give within a range partly based on your level of need. They send these scholarship notices out around regular decision time even for those who applied early (they probably want to look at the entire applicant pool to decide who of the people that didn’t qualify for the others to offer them to).
