Jpozz612: when did you get your acceptance?

I received my acceptance on March 31st

Oh ok then that would make sense as to why I have until the 27th. I got mine may 2

sigh, fordham said my application was incomplete… then proceeded to say it was their mistake since i have everything in.

colleges hate me. does this mean i probably wont get in? since it seems they already sent out acceptances and rejections

just got an email! it said dear student, congrats blah blah blah

i was not offered housing to RH.

i am excited, but kind of scared that it said student instead of my name…
seems unofficial?

enve520: dont trip, my email said dear student also!!

im just waiting for the freaking packet it now!! its been a week already!!! this isnt helping since im waiting for a packet from fordham and an acceptance from nyu!!

This thread…umm died

hahahahahaa ik!!! did any of you guys get financial aid?!

I got accepted 3 days ago through an e-mail from kara for the business school without housing. If this is the case does anyone want to get an apartment together and split the cost?

I received quite q bit of financial aid but I can’t figure out which is loans and which is scholarship/grants?

Anyone know how to figure that out? Looks like a phone call is near considering my decision deadline is today.

hey everyone! i was accepted a little less than two weeks ago and haven’t heard about financial aid yet. i was told that i should be able to check online today but my account says that my cost of attendance is $46,145 and i received no aid…does anyone else’s say something similar? i can’t figure out where that number came from and i know that my family’s suggested contribution is much lower than that. if it makes a difference, i didn’t receive an offer of housing but i’m on the waitlist (at lincoln center). i’m really hoping that it just hasn’t been updated yet!

i’m having the same issue with the deadline for accepting here while waiting to hear from other schools. also, did anyone else’s accepted credits seem really low? only one semester of classes was evaluated for me (i’m an incoming sophomore) and each of my four classes (a full courseload at my previous school) received only three credits. i have an appointment with the dean to talk about credits but i’m a little bit worried!!

I had most of my classes transfer over. I only had a couple classes that did not transfer or that were pending.

Fordham takes awhile to get through the financial aid. They only finalized my award/scholarship loan amounts on this weekend (Note: I asked a question about it this morning and then answered it myself when I logged in) and I am supposed to notify them today about my decision. In reality Fordham is expensive and the financial aid just brought them down to around what my other schools were going to cost. I did receive what I feel to be a pretty big amount of financial aid but nothing that could have persuaded me after making me wait so long.

i’m glad to hear that they gave you a decent amount of financial aid! my decision is completely dependent on that so i’m getting really anxious to hear, and i’m really confused about the cost of attendance listed on my financial aid page. hopefully i’ll hear today but there was an issue with my CSS profile (it was sent in february but lost in their system or something until a few days ago) so i hope that doesn’t set me back too far.
i had a really long wait as well and found the whole process to be really difficult. i was given a lot of incorrect information from various people and parts of my application were lost. i wish that i knew what i’ll be doing next year but there are so many more things that need to be sorted out that it looks like i won’t be able to decide anything for a while.

… found out today they’re missing a high school transcript. - sigh -

My EFC is 0 and I’m totally dependent on the aid as well. Can anyone chime in on their aid packages?

they were missing my high school transcript too!
i haven’t heard about aid yet but i’ve called almost every day for a week and they keep telling me i should hear soon. i really hope that it’s good enough for me to accept my admission there ugh. but with an EFC of 0 i’m sure you have a good shot of getting a decent amount!

godricgryfiindor; how do you know what your efc is?

After about a month of waiting, FINALLY got my financial aid package to find out that Fordham gave me absolutely NOTHING. My cost of attendance is almost $55,000. Definitely not going to Fordham in the fall, I’m declining my offer to go to Vanderbilt. Good luck to everyone! I hope me giving up my spot gives someone housing!

Hey, does anyone need a roommate for the fall at Rose Hill off campus?

@roxiesk - where off campus do you plan on living? Can you also give me the details, thanks!

Sorry to hear that! Not anything against the school itself but the people working in the FA office just seem incompetent. Well, maybe incompetent is a harsh word but thats the closest word I can think of to describe them. I had a similar experience last year.

I was accepted and given 18k in aid, 5k in federal loans. Still left me with about 28k to pay out of pocket so of course I appealed. Some weeks I spent 3 or 4 hrs a week on the phone with the FA office…45 minutes most times just on hold! Well anyways, I was working with the actual director of FA to get some help. I explained to her my tough financial situation explained to her why I needed more aid told her I was independent and would not recieve any help from my parents whatsoever not even a dime for my education. We usually spent over half an hour on the phone each time we spoke thinking of options and what I could do. She said they were going to help me anyway I can to go to school. I was assured they were going to give me something damn close to a full ride because I told her straigtup I can basically pay nothing out of pocket for school being that I was 18 at the time with no savings and no parental assistance. She said she was going to help and finally did the appeal.

When the appeal came back (2 days before the start of classes) I was awarded a grand total of drum roll please ONE THOUSAND MORE DOLLARS A SEMESTER!!! I was ****ed. I was beyond fuming. I put in my FAFSA in like February first of all and didnt get my initial award until late July. Then, after I appeal its takes a month and a half for my new award and its only 2 thousand more dollars for the whole year?? Especially after she had assured me we would work on a way together for me to go to the school. Man, I would have loved to just given someone in that office a piece of my mind but there was nothing I could do but politely decline and decide maybe ill go in the future.

I am now doing americorps(couldnt afford school) and when Im done in 2 months I am going back to a community college (where I qualify for a dependency override) and hope to transfer to NYU. I doubt I will be dealing with fordham again in the future. Good school, nice apartments(in LC), felt at home when I was touring the campus, but Fordham doesnt even offer dependency overrides whereas NYU does, their FA dept. and the people in it are ridiculous (in a bad way), and NYU is my dream school anyways. Fordham was my 2nd choice. Now that im going back to a community college I have the opportunity to work my grades up even more to actually have a chance at NYU.
