@xhongxkongx. Hey! I live in Virginia so it is a slow process looking. I saw some apartments near the school on Saturday (around Hoffman, Hughes, Camberleng, etc.) I don’t have a specific place yet but I am going back around June 1st to look again and hopefully/probably sign a lease for August 1st. If you’re interested, let me know and we can chat.

@roxiesk - let me know how much it is. I’m still deciding where I want to go, but I would love to go to fordham if I could get housing or an off campus housing that’s close to RH.

It appears I spoke to you mom over the phone. Residential life gave her my number. My daughter has a lease on a one bedroom apt on east 191st right behind Walsh Hall and looking for a female roommate. I emailed all the info to your mom but she never replied back. Strange. Is it perhaps because you are not female? Even then I think she would have replied back," thank you but not interested." I even gave her the landlord’s number and apartment address. Never heard from her again…

Hi guys, wish I had found this sooner!! Going to be attending RH in the fall as a sophomore (majoring in psychology and doing the education program). Did not apply for housing, so will be commuting. Any other commuters out there?!
Also, did everyone receive some sort a credit evaluation with their official packet? I did not, but instead have to go in to talk with the dean.

ohh btw, I was reading a couple posts back and I saw people were asking about setting up their online account. You won’t get anything sent to you on it, but have got to “claim” it on the website. It’s really easy, you just need your student id. Also, that’s where I viewed my financial aid package (I have yet to receive anything in the mail regarding my aid).

We haven’t quite found a space yet (well we did but we just haven’t been able to physically see it yet!) Hopefully, we will be able to see it in early June and I will let you know the price/if we for sure choose it! Could you please email me so we can chat a little more? Thanks! snkellman@hotmail.com

Sorry for that! We ended up talking directly to the landlord and had a very confusing time getting around so I guess she forgot. And yes, I am female! Unfortunately, we are no longer interested as my mom would prefer a building with more security (she is very worried about safety). Again, I am sorry she forgot to get back to you. Best of luck finding someone!

Thanks for your response, best of luck to you!

@gab003: i’m a sophomore and i’ll be commuting too, but to lincoln center! i got a credit evaluation in the mail with my official acceptance but scheduled a meeting with the transfer dean at LC which was really really helpful, i received more credits than my original evaluation and i even registered for classes there.

Hello everyone, I’m hoping to transfer from Union County College in New Jersey. I have over 80 credits (Business Major), and I have 3.1 GPA. What do you guys think my odds are?

@car247: hey! yeah, i didn’t get anything in the mail regarding my credits. when you met with the dean, did you already send them your spring semester grades? idk if i should wait until they have those to schedule anything. i’m so impatient though! haha

@dannygrizzle: just so you know, i was told that only 60 credits can be transferred from another school to fordham. this can also be an issue to consider if you’re planning on studying abroad because even some of fordham’s programs don’t technically count as fordham credits, so they would need to be included in your 60 credit limit.

@gab003: hmm if you didn’t get anything regarding your credits with your acceptance, i would call the transfer dean at rose hill! my spring grades actually only came out today so no i hadn’t sent them yet, but unless you’re worried about having failed one of your classes or something i would definitely go ahead and just make the appointment even if you haven’t sent them! i had to describe all of my classes to the dean so it would be helpful to bring class descriptions or something like that with you in case he/she has any specific questions about your classes since they’ll want to figure out which parts of the core curriculum you’ve already filled.

@car247: gotchya. that makes me feel better considering who knows how long it will take my school to send in my final transcript.

btw, are you guys going to any of the summer orientation programs?

Anyone know how to decline admission in myfordham? I’ve looked but cannot find anything.

Why even give them the courtesy of declining? Their residence life people treat students like dirt. If you dont get housing I doubt they even care if you show up

I was hoping to decline admission online but it looks like I will end up calling. I need to do it because they keep sending me mail including bills for tuition. Its the right thing to do and hopefully my spot goes to someone who wants to attend Fordham. I will not be attending so it needs to be done.

lefty, if I were you I would email kara stone – do you not still have her email.

@lefthanded: Actually, I have been trying to “officially” decline my acceptance as well. I’ve sent e-mails, called various numbers all which transferred me to other places to speak to different departments. At this point, It’s getting really annoying. I keep getting information about move-in and orientation dates—and I’ve even got two letters about my bill being due and overdue! Seems like no matter what you do, they’ll still assume you’re attending.

Do most of the students that apply to Fordham University get accepted?

I won’t say that as long as your academics are decent tour chances at Fordham are quite good.
