Fordham Transfer Students Fall 2011

i just dont like how they are saying now may early june, that is unacceptable.

I completely agree. I applied in late February and I had called Fordham in early March to confirm that they had all my materials, which they did. I spoke to an admissions officer last week to double check and she did say everything was fine and that there was no issue with my app, but she did note that I had applied there before so I have no idea if that as anything to do it.

And I’m thinking that email from Kara Stone might have been a mass email to anyone who emailed her, because I got more or less the same email early yesterday morning saying I would hear in May or early June, which really is annoying seeing that we were told we were supposed to hear in two weeks

im not sure if they are saying that so everyone just stops annoying them and calling them… but idk. If admissions is rolling and the college says it is rolling, then we should be hearing 2 weeks after, like they said we would. Im confused how some kids are finding out at random times but we need to now wait for so long. i just dont understand it.

I was accepted and i definitely think you should call or email. If anything comes from it, Fordham will see your continued interest in the university. Max310 i don’t understand how you still haven’t heard back about the status of your application. I sent in my application about the last week of march and i heard back yesterday. I would send Kara Stone an email asking specifically what is taking so long for them to look at your application

coto what school did u apply too?

I was accepted to Rose Hill College of Arts and Sciences for political science. What schools are you guys applying to? Also, I know this was posted earlier in the thread, but does resident student mean i have housing? im still alittle confused on that part.

I applied to Fordham Lincoln Center as well as NYU and Pace. Was already accepted to Pace.
Do you no how these Fordham admissions work? I am very confused because we have to give our deposits for other schools… i will be waiting 3 weeks this tuesday. I applied april 1st

I would send Kara Stone an email asking what is taking so long with your application. Then you’ll find out why it is taking so long, will showed your continued interest in Fordham, and hopefully get the admissions committee looking over these applications to speed it up, either push your application through faster or do that for everyone. I think if you do that, then you will definitely hear this week. I turned in my application in march, but there was an issue with my high school transcripts and that didn’t get to Fordham until a week before i got my decision. You just have to give them a little push and they usually will get back to you pretty fast. The other thing that may be holding up your application is that there could be limited housing at LC. I know that has been an issue in the past. But still email Kara Stone and ask why you haven’t received your decision. Can’t hurt

would you email Kara? or should place a phone call tomorrow/tuesday? i feel like a phone call is better. what do u think

I mean i emailed Kara Stone and got a response two days later. Either one works, but you seem like you want to know asap so calling would probably solve the problem faster.

thank you coto i really appreciate all your help… its just hard waiting and them saying now may/june when it has always been two weeks… idk if they do it by who sent in there apps first or what but it just seems very bizarre

Im also applying to LC with housing and I believe thats why its taking so long. I hear they are tight on space for housing at LC. I am going to call monday just to make sure they have everything. My app has been in for almost 5 weeks now.

Yea i must have to be the housing at LC. I would still call though just make sure that is the case

that would make me so ****ed if i get accepted but without housing which i feel is going to be the case… i just hope they send our more decisions so we can start making plans for whats going on.

Yea same for me. Im from Boston so there is no way i can commute. It says im a resident student but i don’t know if that means i have housing or not. Going to have to wait til i get my acceptance package or call admissions and figure it out that way

im pretty sure a resident student means you have housing coto.

do u think that they will send more decisions this week

Quite possibly. I know earlier in this thread people were saying that they were sending acceptances in waves, which would make sense. But due to the randomness i have seen with admissions, i start to doubt that its the case. Thus i would not be surprised if they did send more out and yours was included. I would still give them a call tomorrow tho

thank you coto, thank u

@Coto I’m almost positive that “resident student” in the acceptance email means you have received a housing offer. That’s exactly what it said in my email and I got my package a few days ago saying that it was an acceptance with housing at RH.

Awesome. That was one of my two concerns with transferring to Fordham. How did your transfer credit evaluation look? Thats what i was also worried about. Fordham’s new core just makes me uneasy about how many credits ill actually get
