Fordham Transfer Students Fall 2011

The CSS Profile is required srivera. Also when I called the financial aid office I was told that we should find out the details of our package by may 1st and that we will first see on the myfordham portal before receiving it in the mail

do u think not submitting to CSS form may hold up my decision? when i called i was told my app was complete and ready to go… they did not mention the CSS form… my mom submitted it today… do u think not sending it in yet could have hurt my chances/delayed my response? i really hope not… we filled out the FASFA but since I dont get any financial aid anyway my family didnt think to submit the CSS… now im worried.

i thought you would get accepted first and then get the financial aid (which i think is the case) i dont think not submitting the form yet could have hurt my chances… what do you think?

Lol relax. No I don’t think it will hurt your chances of acceptance. It would only affect your financial aid and im pretty sure is only mandatory if you’re looking to receive some kind of aid. I’m sorry for worrying you, I assumed you were filing for aid since you asked that question.

Just called again. Sent in my application March 2nd. FAFSA and CSS were in about ~2 weeks later. They said my application was complete, but they don’t know why it wasn’t sent out to me, and that all they can tell me is that I should get it “soon.” Fordham website says 2 weeks after everything is in. It’s been longer than a month!

Jpozz, are you certain they will notify via the portal for TRANSFER students. That is not what I was told, and I can not get into the portal.

Kayf, That’s what I was told when I called the financial aid office last week. They said we will be getting it in the mail too but it’ll be posted on the portal first. Also, I have no problem getting on to the portal, in fact, my portal is setup just like I’m a student. I’ve received university emails through my Fordham email address already.

hahahha alright! i just want an answer this week! i think that the reason why we havent heard is because kara stone is out of the office until the 27th and she probably sends the emails

Jpozz, when I called they person I spoke to said the portal was not available to transfer. She also said they would notify me by now. Their website says I would be notified by now.

I am debating telling them I want my application fee refunded.

They are doing terrible at communication and are not creating a feeling of caring school.

I agree with everyone…they really do not give off the feeling that they care about their prospective students, which leaves me feeling skeptical. I actually know a few people that are transferring out of Fordham for fall 2011…while we’re trying to transfer in! I’m starting to have second thoughts…I really feel like if you don’t hound and call the admissions office, you’ll never find out a decision!

@Srivera: The CSS Profile should not hold up your notification. I didn’t get any type of financial aid information in my package in the mail.

kara stone is in the office today and i still have not received any notification or returned call.
im really not happy with fordham at all

Kara stone is not in her office today. I just called her to get my transfer evaluation form mailed to me and they told me she was not in today. Id try calling her tomorrow. Also the CSS form does not have to be submitted with your application. One of the forms that i received says that if you wish to be evaluated for fin aid to submit both CSS and FAFSA forms

she is in her office coto ahha when i called it went to her voicemail and it said she was off from the 21st and will be back tuesday the 26th.

Well then why was i told she wasn’t there today? Ugh… Fordham… how you put me through such much unnecessary pain

coto i agree. they really are terrible and my parents are making me start to question the institution that they are if they treat their prospective students in this fashion.

Hey, just wondering if anyone received any sort of contact from Fordham regarding the status of their application. I submitted mine back in February and haven’t even received a notice that my app. was complete, though from the couple of posts I’ve read so far, I’m guessing not many people are hearing much from Fordham.

cloudy - i didnt want to go into it on the NYU thread… but if you applied to LC i feel as if we didnt hear because there is limited housing so they are prob waiting for the freshman who were accepted to hand in their deposits. i have a feeling we will hear next week. plus the transfer advisor has been out since last week, she returned today so everything is all mixed up i think.

I submitted all of my materials in early March and have not heard anything since. When I saw that some people on here had heard from them I called to check the status of my application. The woman was rude and terse, and just told me that they were waiting for my final transcript from my current school and that I should send it at the end of the semester. I don’t know about anyone else but I didn’t think that spring semester final grades were even required for the application… was this woman wrong or does this mean that I have an even longer wait ahead of me?

they may want to see your spring semester grades before they make a decision on your application. Its not always the case but sometimes it is. Sorry that this is taking so long for all of you. I was frustrated with waiting four weeks, so i can’t even imagine what its like for you guys.

Accepted today. Did not request housing.

@srivera617 You’re probably right…I just hate waiting. I mean, I’d pick NYU over Fordham if the FA packages are comparable, but I just want all my options open.
But if they are waiting for the freshmen to respond, we should hear back during the first week of May.
The fact that they didn’t even acknowledge receiving my application kind of ****ed me off though. :/
