I'm sure some other things will come up as I finish out Junior year and move into senior year.

I intend on applying ED, while getting goods recs and writing one hell of an essay.

You look like a pretty solid canidate, I can't see why you wouldn't get in. I too am looking at fordham, and my GPA/SAT are about the same.

Oh and GYLC is not selective. They collect mailing lists from schools, camps, etc. I remember in 9th grade I got a letter from them in the mail, and thought it was the coolest thing. I told someone in my class about it, turned out 50 percent of the class got the same letter. Is it selective? No. Is it a good program? Very well could be.

Interesting to know that. I don't personally know of anyone in the area that had received one, but I'm sure you're right. It was in fact an excellent program, and I would certainly do it again.

Would love some more input from anyone on my chances.

Well, don't write an essay on GYLC. Mention, perhaps that it was a good program.
You are a very solid candidate for Fordham, and then some because of your religious background. They will be filling about 75% of their class with candidates similar to you (Perhaps with lower qualifications even) and the other 25% with mostly mediocre and a few fantastic Ivy rejects.

You do seem to have a moderately wealthy background, so they probably won't be needing to spend a lot of money on you, which is actually a good thing in this economy.
For my final answer, you are looking really good. Get great scores on your APs and continue any ECs that you're interested in and you'll be in there in no time. ;)

I really appreciate the reassurance. My goals are to raise my GPA to an even 3.3 (87/100) and to continue with some Leadership Roles that I have just begun this year.

I certainly won't write an essay on GYLC, but I will say to you all that it was a worthwhile experience; I would encourage anyone invited to the program to attend.

I do come from an upper-middle class family, and I most likely will not receive financial aid, which, while not so great for my personal finances, is a plus for Fordham, who has a much smaller endowment than some of the other private-Catholics.

Thanks again, and as always, other advice is welcome.

I come from an upper middle class - first class family, and my academic reports and overall resume was solid, and Fordham still gave some money! Get that GPA up, and you will have a decent shot at Fordham.
