Congratulations all of you! Fordham is a fabulous university. You will be very challenged at Fordham. Further, you will be in the smartest class that Fordham has ever admitted (because every year their student profile has improved as their UNWR ranking has jumped enormously). You won’t be alone in being smart at Fordham!

You should select the college you want to attend because of your total fit to the school. Sometimes that fit comes from safety and match schools, and surprisingly not at reach schools or uber selective schools like the Ivy League. Every student is different.

Fordham wants you to explore Fordham early and often and come visit, speak with students, faculty and administrators about what Fordham offers.

The creme rises to the top at Fordham, through numerous honors programs and outstanding internships. Some students double major, sometimes in programs that are not related, like Theology and Science, or Philosophy and Math.

Fordham graduates are prized by employers and graduate schools for being well prepared, hard working and high integrity.

Welcome to Fordham!

Comments: I was so happy when I got in extra-early because it was the third and final safety school I was waiting on. Congrats to everyone else who got in and good luck to everyone still waiting!

The phone number is a financial aid thing. My dad called the day I got the email and it’s a private company. Fordham is paying them to do our FAFSA and waiving the CSS profile requirement. My FAFSA is already done and ready to be filed on Jan 1, so I’ll find out my aid package asap. They’re filing it at the other schools I’m applying to, also.

If I get a lot of aid, aka highest possible scholarship and lots of need based aid, I’m considering going there. I applied just to broaden my horizons in case I don’t get in to Chapel Hill. I’ll visit if my aid package is good. They seem really nice, and the academics are great. It’s become a definite possibility for me.

Did people who are hearing this early use the common app or the Fordham Your Choice app?

I used common app

How did you guys find out if you were accepted? Isn’t the decision day Dec. 25th?

@QwertyNerd That’s what I was wondering…or maybe it’s just that everyone should have received their decisions no later than Dec. 25

From what I gather only a small number of exceptionally well qualified applicants hear this early. Most EA applicants should expect to get an admissions decision around Christmas.

I’m almost positive that the notifications will be mailed out on December 15th, which makes sense because then everyone would get their letters by the 25th!
