Fordham University Class of 2016 Decisions

decisions will be mailed for everyone who applied EA dec. 15th!

Are the accepted bunch also hearing if they received a merit scholarship?

Like many others, I applied EA and still haven’t heard back yet. Just wondering, will those who have not been notified yet still have a chance at being accepted? I’ve heard a few people say that most applicants who haven’t heard back yet will probably be deferred or denied. Any truth to this?

NO. NOT TRUE. Everyone who applied EA will hear sometime after December 15 and before December 25. The VAST majority of those accepted EA will hear in this time frame. Only a few were picked to hear a week or so earlier. Most had extraordinary stats.

Scholarships are sometimes awarded at this time, and sometimes awarded in the late winter/early spring. Don’t panic about that either.

And make sure you submitted your financial information on CSS (and FAFSA for those needing financial aid.)

Every Fordham application is automatically reviewed for scholarship potential.

Finally, the highest percentage (2/3 ?) of the applicants apply RD and hear in late March.

@vmacip Did you find out today?

No I found out on 9/21. I sent in my application and supplement via common app on 10/17.

thks - guessing you mean’t 11/21? but that is what I wanted to know - just wondering if they are still sending out the emails now with the mail notice date so close.

sovereigndebt … that’s such a relief, thank you for letting me know. I was hoping that wasn’t true, considering Fordham is my top school.

Does anyone know if those who applied EA and haven’t heard back yet will get an email or a letter?

I heard that a letter is mailed but wondering if an acceptance packet comes with it? Or is sent later?

@squiggles yea sorry i meant 11/21. My friend got his email on december 6th, but that’s the most recent I’ve heard.

Also, i think the letter is mailed. In the email i got, it says, “While the official offer of admission will not be mailed until mid-December…” so yea haha

Yeah squiggles1118 I was just wondering the same thing. I don’t want to have an automatic heart attack if I see a small envelope, although I probably will regardless. I’m so anxious to know, just hoping that it’s a letter of acceptance. Good luck to all! If the letters are being mailed out tomorrow, we should all know by the beginning of next week!

I read that last year the acceptances came in big envelopes and inside the big envelops was a red folder.

Do they mail them tomorrow or can we expect to get them tomorrow? Maybe they will also do e-mail since they did the early acceptance thing.

My kid applied RD several years ago and has long since graduated. In that timeframe, she got an email “early notice” (stellar stats) but it was like a week or less early, followed by a package acceptance, with a folder and all the goodies inside.

So I dont know what happens with EA. In any event, any offers need to be finalized with financial data, and grades…and they want ALL your grades from senior year. All offers are contingent on passing all your courses and so forth.

There does seem to be more of the early notification going on EA this year…and that may be done to alleviate some of the pressure at Fordham as applications are at all time highs (over 31,000 last year!). So be patient.

I think the vast majority of you will find out by snail mail, being mailed in batches starting tomorrow and you receiving news within 3-4 days, depending on mail time and where you live. If you get in: congrats. If you get deferred: don’t give up, just work hard on your finals this semester; but also start plan B on colleges of your choice. If you are rejected: I am sorry, but you will find a good school for you to attend. Focus on schools that match your credentials.

Good luck.

Going from what read on here last year again, packages are mailed out tomorrow so depending on how close you live you could hear starting on Friday. It seems like last year the only people who got e-mails tomorrow were international students.
