Welcome all. Glad you visited Burrns. Good decision. I can assure you, you are wanted at Fordham, and you will be challenged, yet have a good time. Its not cutthroat, but it is competitive. Its a very special place.

Remember all that the kids who blow out (usually right after mid terms around Thanksgiving) are the ones who party and make poor decisions. Come with the values you were raised with, respect others, focus on your studies and make friends with the same interests and priorities and you will be fine.

What you all saw at Orientation is the real thing. Good kids, smart kids and competitive kids. Great faculty, with many serving as mentors.

But its NOT high school. Buy the gear and get into the vibe. Welcome ALL to Fordham.

rmwill: you can appeal your aid. Send them your other offers and see what they say. Fax it tomorrow with a nice cover letter explaining your situation. If Fordham is your number one choice, tell them that. No guarantees. They spread around the aid and scholarships as best they can.

Not every school works off the same cookie cutter methodology on determining aid. Fordham is very expensive. In my view its worth the INVESTMENT that you/parents make for your education. But that is up to you to decide.

Give it a try. But hurry. Its getting very close to deadline.
