Fordham University EA/ED 2022

@proserpine We, too, have no messages and all that is listed is receipt of the FAFSA and CSS forms.

Same here, no messages, just says they got FAFSA / CSS

Is it too late to file fafsa and css for scholarship consideration? We did not file for Fordham because we had more than 10 schools on the list for Fafsa and Fordham also wanted CSS! We honestly did not think DD would be accepted at Fordham and we do not qualify for federal financial aid, so we rolled the dice and decided not submit. Is it too late to apply for merit consideration do you think?

@labegg, it is not too late to file FAFSA for consideration for merit aid. Only some of the merit scholarships also have a need component. For example, the Dean’s scholarship is at least $15,000, with more depending on need. Others, such as a Presidential or National Merit, as well as some smaller awards have no need component. My D was awarded a merit scholarship last year before we filed FAFSA. We did have to file it in order to claim her award. However, if you weren’t sure if your D was even going to be accepted, she might not be eligible for much merit aid.

Is my son the only one who hasn’t heard? He just logged in and it’s still saying that they received all of his information but nothing about an acceptance or rejection

Hey guys, I was accepted to the honors program but I don’t know ANYTHING about it & it’s hard to find good info online. Does anyone here have a good info source/know much about the program? Fordham wasn’t super high on my list but I’m definitely reconsidering now.

D was accepted Rose Hill with full tuition scholarship for National Merit Semifinalist. 4.0 UW, 35 ACT.

@nickdsmom , we had to click on the part that says new information was added on Dec 15th. Otherwise, the portal looked the same.

I just checked again and there is nothing on his portal that says that new information has been added on Dec. 15th

That is really frustrating. An email arrived yesterday as well saying to check the portal. I imagine you’ll need to call Monday morning to look into this. Good luck.

Thanks, I’ll call Monday morning and see what’s going on. His portal states that all information has been received. It doesn’t appear that anything is missing.

accepted with 15k dean’s scholarship and honors program! super weird that some people on this thread got higher scholarships but no honors. it was completely unexpected to me! stats: 3.88/4.12 gpa, 35 act, journalism major at lc

well it could be that those with NMSF scholarship don’t need any additional motivation to go to Fordham. Just one thought. I’m happy my D got Deans and honors but hey a full ride would be better!

Daughter deferred 34 ACT, 3.6/4.28 gpa, Her essay was good, and has good recommendations. Varsity swim team 4 4 years, lifeguard, swim teacher to little kids. She is heartbroken, Fordham was her #1 choice. Kind of at a loss… Needs to send her mid semester grades in ASAP. Anyone else in the same boat??
Any thoughts on her chances for RD?

i never really post, just stalk but I’m searching for answers. I was deferred from the RH political science program. 3.8 unweighted, 4.15 weighted, 1280 SAT (I know, a little low) 4 APs, probably something like 15 or 20 honors classes. 4/150 students. A good amount of fairly diverse ECs, good essay, worked. I just don’t know what I did wrong? What are my chances of getting accepted now?

Deferred

Accepted with $12500 scholarship! SAT 1400/ school doesn’t provide GPA, but top 30%

Did everyone who is receiving scholarship info apply ED?

Son was accepted EA to Gabell at RHi. unweighted 3.6, ACT: 29 (SS 30). Congrats to all of you and for your hard work and dedication. Fordham is a huge accomplishment!

@crepes Thank you for the info about Fordham housing history. I have a friend who was an undergrad there in the '80s who lived on campus and never made it sound like a commuter school.

Son was accepted. I was a student there in the late 80’s. There were many students living on campus then. When I toured with my son, I was impressed by the new housing that has gone up.
