Fordham University EA/ED Class of 2023

Hi all! Just wanted to start a thread for the class of 2023 to post stats/admission decisions for Fordham University (Rose Hill and Lincoln Center). I submitted my application earlier this week (EA) to the Gabelli School of Business at Rose Hill (Finance major) and I am already anxiously awaiting a decision. Does anyone know if decisions are released before the date on Fordham’s website?

I’m a current student at Fordham. I applied EA last year and I heard back on December 15.

I think they said that they’re releasing them all on December 19th.

Yeah, December 19th! However, they might release it four days earlier like last year i think lol!!!

I am also a prospective student… cant wait for December! LOL

I also applied about a couple weeks ago EA!

Can’t wait to hear back from them hehe

Same here! I applied EA around October 9th or so and I’m so excited to hear back! Fordham is my top choice as of right now!

I applied EA as well! Super nervous for decisions to come out

I heard that in the past, Fordham has sent out likely letters (basically telling applicants that they were accepted a bit earlier than the official release date) around Thanksgiving break. I hope that’s true because it’d be a great surprise!

Also does anyone know if Fordham requires First Quarter grades for EA applicants?

@myfutureonwallst , wow you sound a lot like my son. Similar stats, courses and interest and even the same job! You have more ECs but there are lots of similarities in the details. Weird! He applied EA to Fordham Rose hill too.

@TS0104 wow that’s awesome! Maybe I’ll see him on campus if we both get in and decide to go!

@myfutureonwallst yes, it sounds like you two would end up in the same places LOL!

Is it required to send in a FAFSA and CSS? I don’t qualify for financial aid, yet I was emailed today about them not receiving this information and stating it’s “required”. Anyone know?

I asked this question at a Fordham information session. It is not required if you’re only seeking merit, but they still recommend you fill it out. I did the FAFSA (but not the CSS) on November 15 just as a cya, but we are full pay. I think others on this site have mentioned they had to fill it out AFTER they had received an acceptance and a merit offer.
Follow up: my D received this email today also. It says in order to ensure maximum consideration for all FA, the. FAFSA and CSS are required. I will call the FA office on Monday.

@PepperJo My son also received this email. It caught me off guard because we are going to be full pay unless given merit $$. Never even considered completing a FAFSA. I know 100% any scholarship he receives will not be enhanced with a FAFSA. We definitely do not qualify for any aid. So I am hoping we can skip the FAFSA as none of the other schools to which he applied require this. I will give them a call on Monday as well.

We are in the same boat. Please share your information on this site after you call. I will do the same. The FA office is open Monday and Tuesday next week.

Yes we got the same e-mail. I called and the person I spoke with said that they do require the FAFSA and CSS for merit aid (we are not going to get need-based financial aid, so weren’t going to bother with those forms). While that seemed a bit odd to me, nonetheless I buckled down and did the forms. Took me about 2-3 hours, but now they’re done if we need them for any other schools as well.

Hey @applying2023 , @PepperJo and @WineLover , before applying I emailed admissions to see if a CSS profile was required for merit aid, stating that son would not qualify for any need based aid, and was told no. I admit the answer was worded kind of strangely:
"Thank you for contacting Fordham University.

The CSS is not required for the Merit Scholarship.

Please email us if you have any questions."

We did do a FAFSA however, because I have an older DD who needed a FAFSA for her merit aid award, so we just did it for DS.

Let’s keep each other posted, I am curious to hear the results of the phone call now! I don’t have any emails from Fordham, and DS hasn’t mentioned anything. Fingers crossed that we do NOT have to do the CSS Profile!!!

I just emailed them, and I will follow up with a phone call tomorrow.
