Fordham University EA/ED Class of 2023

@collegereadyguy Congrats to your son. I have had such luck. I am an international applicant from India. My name is Ramanudram. I am currently admitted to BU, the Harvard of Massachusetts. I was shocked that I got in early to such a prestigious Ivy League School. However, I was on phone call with my American aunt and received a sudden shock when she told me that ED was binding. I thought Harvard had an REA policy. I called them up, but they could not understand me so I will have dad call them tomorrow. I hope that this problem will resolve itself as I reported a much higher income than my family currently earns. 1220 is a very good score, I personally received 1350 with an essay score of 24, and I was very proud to be in the 90th percentile. Maybe The Jesuit University at Fordham, the Columbia of New York would also be an interesting fit. They are the Fordham Rams, which I think is short for Ramanudram. I am very excited to have received my first Ivy League acceptance at Boston University - Harvard. Thank you so much for reading.

@suzyQ7 - I apologize, I stand corrected.

@morecollege22 My son received the invitation. I’m not sure whether or not he joined.

Accepted with 1390 SAT / 3.9/4 GPA

Do you guys know how Honors works? I’m not finding an application process or deadline on the website. Maybe it is invitation only?

@TS0104 I believe the Honors is by invitation only. The website didn’t exactly said that, my D got the Honors invitation without submitting any additional application. She got accepted to Honors Program of Fordham College at Rose Hill.

Accepted EA to Lincoln Center but may petition for Rose Hill since varsity swim coach considering me for a remaining team spot. First choice ED1 NYU …got accepted to Liberal Studies Program but would have to spend Freshman year at their building in Washington DC with only 120 students which is no Freshman or college campus experience and precludes my potential varsity swimming there too…I NYC…Fordham looking more and more desirable.

I was accepted to College at Rose Hill, but Do any of you think its odd that I wasnt offered merit scholarship or honors program invitation?

Im not acting like Im entitled for merit scholarship from Fordham, Im just confused as to why they wouldn’t offer merit aid considering the stats of others who have received it. Why wouldn’t they? Do you think they will offer it in the coming weeks/months?

@qwxmntklp it is my understanding that only the very top merit awards were sent with admission letters and that other merit awards will be sent out later. The honors program only invites 30 to 40 students per year.

@qwxmntklp, I believe that what @aimster888 said is correct. Fordham might want to wait RD applicants before giving scholarships to most of the accepted students. I assume that you applied EA to Fordham and I strongly believe that you’ll get some merit scholarship once they have evaluated all applications. So, you see no merit scholarship on the portal? What major are you applying? Fordham’s website mentions that they want to select diverse students in the cohort, maybe too many good students have the same profile like you.

@qwxmntklp. Please accept my apology - I forgot to say congratulations on your acceptance and a high school well-done! ?

@qwxmntklp, I just read scholarships information on Fordham’s website: https://www.fordham.edu/info/20531/apply/3752/scholarships_and_grants , it appears that the requirement of Dean’s scholarship on test score is the following: have scored above 1490 (super-scored SAT) or 34 (super-scored composite ACT).

So is it possible to get a Dean’s scholarship and no invitation to the Honors program and vice versa, or do the two go hand in hand. Also, if you are a National Merit semifinalist, do you automatically get a full tuition scholarship?

Being awarded the Deans Scholarship does not indicate you will be offered a invitation to to the Honors program. Being a National Merit Semifinalist does not make you a shoe-in for a full tuition award. If you are a candidate for this award contact your region representative and express your case where you are a great fit and what you can add to Fordham university. BTW, many NMSF are not in the honors program. Good luck and congratulation on your acceptance.
