Fordham University questions

Hi all! I'm a rising senior and Fordham University is my number one choice. I am interested in pursuing international business double majored with German. I have a couple questions about the Gabelli School of Business and FCRH in general.

From what I understand, one must apply to Gabelli separately from Rose Hill. I would love to attend Gabelli, but my SAT math score is weak (640) so I don't know if I will be accepted. If I apply to Gabelli and get rejected, can I still apply to Rose Hill? On the other hand, if I am accepted to Rose Hill, can I eventually transfer into Gabelli later in my 4 years at Fordham?

If I decide not to apply to Gabelli, can I still major in international/global business at Rose Hill?

I am planning on applying Early Action to Rose Hill, if not Gabelli. Based on the following stats, do I have acceptable credentials for acceptance at Rose Hill?
SAT: 2050 Math-640 Reading- 660 Writing- 750
SAT II: I have yet to take these. I am planning on taking the ACT in September, so if I do well on that, I won't need to take the SAT subject tests.
GPA: 4.464 (weighted on a 4.6 scale)
Rank: 14/583
Course selection- All honors, two languages, and an AP class junior year. I received a 4 on the AP English Language and Composition test at the end of junior year. I am taking 6 APs senior year: AP Calc BC, AP Literature, AP Government and Politics, AP Macro/micro Economics, AP German, AP Latin.
ECs: My high school's softball team all 4 years, softball since I was 5, Executive Board of NHS, Yearbook editor, H2O service club, Future Business Leaders of America, coaching a local softball team, board member of a foundation created by my family in memory of my cousin that runs fundraisers and awards scholarships
Hook: I am the oldest of 5 children, I just spent 3 weeks in Germany for an exchange, I work at a Boy Scout camp over the summer.

Thanks for your time, and I hope you can help me!

Fordham Rose Hill (RH) has majors in International Political Economy (an interdisciplinary major) and Economics, as well as German. IPE ties in very well with a language minor, or even double major.
At RH, minors include German, and RH students can minor in Gabelli Business School areas of: Accounting, Business Admin, Marketing, and Sustainable Business.

(Gabelli School of Business is at the Fordham RH campus, and you will take core classes with students from both schools, as well as business courses together. Students from both schools share dorms and are friends.)

To check on your chances, read some of the answers on chance questions on the Fordham forum on this website.

Thank you!

If you want business I’d apply right to Gabelli. Personally, I just don’t like to chance, but your stats line up pretty well with Fordham’s profile.

Gabelli is the business school which is located on the RH campus. As noted above Gabelli students are mixed in with RH students for really everything but business classes. It is possible to transfer from RH to Gabelli, but sometimes Gabelli can be filled up which can make it a bit more tricky. Also the core requirements are somewhat different in RH and Gabelli so IMO you would be best off starting off in the school you think you want to be in.

Also I think your “hooks” are more your life experiences than true hooks – IMO a hook is something more specific to why a particular school would want you like you are a legacy, a recruited athlete etc.

You can major in IPE and minor in Business. I know several who have majored in RH departments and minored ni Business.

Also, IPE is a very good program.
