It is official!! A few days ago, I received my acceptance letter from Fordham regarding the pre-MBA program. I start this fall.

I am most excited for this opportunity because Fordham is one of the schools I will be considering when applying to grad schools next fall (2013). Because I only have about 3 months of postgraduate experience under my belt I am obviously not quite ready for MBA programs. I want to gain more experience in the advertising field as I current work in account management.

If anyone has taken this program or wish to take a pre-MBA program please feel free to share. As I embark on this road to graduate school I will also appreciate any advice you may have for me. I am currently enrolled in Manhattan GMAT prep course and once I take the test and receive my score I will know which schools I should be looking to apply to.

Hi! Congrats! When did you apply? How many weeks until you received your decision? Was it by mail or email?

Hi excelinc,

Thank you! When applying, you check off how you wish to receive their decision: (snail) mail or e-mail, and I chose e-mail so that is how I was notified.

I applied online 3/28 and received my acceptance e-mail 5/25. It took a few months, only because my undergraduate university failed to send my transcripts to them when I first requested. A month later, I had them re-send my official transcripts, and they sent me an email saying my application was complete and they would review it right away. The next week, I was notified.

So, I’d say it’s a fairly quick process. If you are thinking of applying to the Fall 2012 semester, it’s not too late- deadline is 8/1. You have to pay the non-refundable $130 application fee; however, if/when you apply to their MBA program, the fee will be waived. It seems as if pre-MBA programs are few. After searching, I only happened to see Fordham, Yale, Ithaca College. Rutgers has a certificate program as well I believe.

It’s just a great opportunity to show grad schools you have what it takes, before applying. Good luck and I hope that helped!

Hi and thanks for the info! I actually applied to the MBA program and was just wondering how long it actually took to get a response. I did received an email about a two weeks ago saying application was complete. Again thanks and good luck!

Yes,

You should be hearing back anytime now. Good luck with the MBA program. I hope to be there in a few years… !
