Hello everyone! I’ll be attending Fordham in the fall and I couldn’t be more excited. For about 2 years now Fordham has been my dream school. However, to my surprise, in March I got my decision letter from BU stating that I had been accepted as a guaranteed transfer for fall 2021. I applied to Fordham undecided because truly I don’t know what I want to major in, but I was accepted undeclared within BU’s College of Communications. Recently, I’ve been considering journalism as well, and according to BU‘s website, their journalism program is #6 in the country. So, ultimately, I’m torn. I’m not going into college next year with the intention of transferring, but if BU offers me good aid (which I’m not sure will happen), or I end up deciding I’d rather be in Boston instead of NYC, or even ultimately decide I want to pursue journalism, I’m thinking BU is the best option for doing so. Can anyone speak on guaranteed transfers to BU from the past? I’m really curious if it’s worth going to BU for a degree from a school ranked higher than Fordham or anyone who can speak on the College of Communications as a whole. Thank you so much!
For journalism, I would choose BU. In my case, I study Finance so the Gabelli School of Business (Fordham) is much stronger than BU.
