These are the schools I'm choosing between and I'm honestly at such a loss right now.

Fordham isn't giving me any merit but their estimated FA looks promising. It's also a really well known school, nationally ranked, and has good connections for internships.

LMU I have no idea what their FA is going to be but they did give me a small merit scholarship and I love its location in LA.

Chapman I'm waiting on finances also but I know they have a good communications program and entertainment industry connections. They also have a specific PR major which is sorta nice. Although definitely not a deciding factor.

Fairfield gave me a huge scholarship but that's about it, but I did love the school when I visited.

I want to go into entertainment PR and money is not a huge concern. I want to pick the school that is going to set me up best for my career. I live on the east coast but eventually want to move out west. What do you think is the best school? Or what should I be focusing on when deciding?

Also, I do know NYC and LA are like night and day so don’t tell me that. But I love both cities and could see myself in both. However, I do like the SoCal lifestyle better but feel the education at Fordham is of better quality. Coming from the east coast, I love NYC and definitely would not mind living there for a few years.

I’m familiar only with Fordham, where my daughter will go this September, most likely. But having a much older daughter who is a talent agent, I would suggest to you that if you want to be connected with the theatre scene, stick with NYC; if it is the movie industry you want to do PR for, you would be better off in the LA area. Going to college in either place would determine internships, and possible networking opportunities. Sorry I could not be of more help re: the specifc schools.

No clue what Fairfeild is. I’d strike that one out first because it doesnt have the same name recognition as the others.

If I were you, I’d choose between LMU and Chapman first. As for fun, Chapman doesn’t have a ‘crazy’ nightlife because it’s located in the relaxed OC area. LMU, however, is much more raging. LMU will get you internships and career opportunities in LA, but nothing outside of the west coast. Same with Chapman.

If you want to live out west, I’d knock out Fordham.

My daughter and i have toured LMU, Fordham and Chapman. Considered Fairfield but just never got there. While the campus at Fordham was gorgeous, outside of the gates was a little scary in my opinion. Fordham may have a slightly more recognized name around the country in general, but the two CA schools are better-known on the west coast. We loved the location of LMU but just felt more comfortable at Chapman. Since we visited them all last summer, everything I’ve read about Chapman just makes me more and more impressed! I think it is really gaining in recognition and reputation. I agree if it’s theater you want to stay in touch with, you should choose Fordham (and spend a lot of time at the Lincoln Center campus) but if it 's the tv or movie business I would choose Chapman. Just my opinion, of course.

Thank you all so much for your opinions! I don’t think Fairfield has enough to offer me and I toured both Fordham campuses and didn’t love it enough to take out the loans it will require of me. I’m definitely between LMU & Chapman but your opinions were very helpful as well! I am actually from the east coast but am looking for a job in LA… of course a masters degree may follow and I know if I want to be marketable nationwide I can go to a bigger name school then. Thanks!
