Fordham vs. Holy Cross

Is Fordham's network as strong as holy cross's? Coming out of graduation with even stats, how would you compare the two?

Hmmm.....I dont know how many companies recruit at Holy Cross but I know at Fordham, historically, there has been a plethora of companies recruiting. And among those recruiting are that close network of alumnae. Fordham knows where its graduates work and like all good schools suggests that its students contact a Fordham alumn for job seeking. I think that Holy Cross is a bit more Boston oriented and not as strong, for example in New York. Then again, Fordham grads may have an easier time in NYC than Boston. Also, Fordham draws from a lot of local Catholic prep schools and those kids tend to be rather tight and look out for each other in the job hunt as well. I would imagine that Holy Cross is much the same. Deciding between these two fine Jesuit schools would be a tough choice, as they are more similar than not. Though Fordham is larger and considered a National research institution and not an LAC. They play each other in football and its a fierce rivalry.

Your question is a good one and I am not sure there is a clear cut answer. It really comes down to who you are, what you are looking for in a school, where you want to go to school and perhaps where you want to work when you graduate. My bias is Fordham, naturally. But I would say nothing negative about Holy Cross. Fordham is a hot school and has made the national news in college search media recently. If that helps. Fordham, Villanova, BC, Holy Cross compete for many of the same students each year.

Good luck.

thanks no cousin. I actually attend Holy Cross currently, but am most likely switching for the spring semester. I just wanted to hear from others what they might think.

The difference - would you rather spend 4 years in Worcester or 4 years in NYC? Upon graduation, I think the Fordham "network" is stronger in NYC and the HC "network" has greater strength in Boston. So if you can think ahead: where do you want to settle after graduation?

Also, you may have a little adjustment in transferring. HC has that 4 courses@4 credits while Fordham has the more conventional 5 courses @ 3 credits each. You may lose some standing

Good luck
