Hi all,
I'm trying to decide between Fordham and NYU. I'm completely torn.

I got into the Bachelor of Fine Arts Program at NYU Steinhardt. I was excited initially because I was pretty sure that I wanted to major in art, but I knew that I didn't want to go to an art school and therefore thought that this small program at NYU which seemed perfect....it enables you to gain knowledge in art and to have studio time, without being completely limited to just that.

Although now I've been accepted, I'm not completely certain that I want to attend. I think the program is perfect for what I want to do right now--become an art teacher--but I don't know if I like the completely urban setting or if my desired major will change. I mean I live in New York and while I'm familiar with the city, I don't know if I want to live there for four years. I do like the idea of a college campus with a really spirited student body more like Fordham, but is the scarifice a more prestigious university worth that? (not to insult Fordham...love Fordham, but NYU is better academically.)

I've visited Fordham (ROSE HILL) several times. I'm very familiar with the campus, and the student body seems really compatable with who I am. I'm clean-cut, Catholic, but I'm liberal--I'm not that religious. With what I've seen right now, I think I might be more comfortable at Fordham being around other people more like me...considering that I'm not the stereotypical male artist: I work out and I like women. Although with that said, I think NYU would be a big opportunity to waste.

What's more important: being at a school with the typical college campus...you know: spirited student body with football and all? OR being in a prestigious art program at a very selective and more diverse university?

Fordham or NYU Steinhardt???

Is anyone here in the program at NYU?
