Fordham vs. Rutgers

I've been accepted to both Rutgers and Fordham. I plan to study Finance and Fordham puts me directly on this path. However, at Rutgers I must attend achieve atleast a 3.4 and distinction myself from the many who want to the business school. Fordham costs about 10k more a year though. If I have a debt of about 35k is it more worth it to go to Rutgers or is Fordham a better school?

In terms of an undergraduate degree, I would recommend Rutgers, given your financial situation.
Concentrate more on graduate school; it will generally hold more weight than your undergraduate institution when it comes to your career.

Disagree. I would not hesitate to recommend Fordham, particularly in Finance where they are VERY strong. Whether you go on for your MBA or go directly to work, its an awesome school, a gorgeous campus, lots of fun and just the right size. Its your pick and you must inventory your own personality and interests. But if its me, its Fordham all the way.

Although I graduated from Rutgers, I say go to Fordham if you are sure you want finance…THEN apply to Rutgers at Newark for an MBA. MBA grads from Rutgers get recruited to Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, Citibank, etc…

Although you might short circuit the process by going directly from Fordham to a good job.
