I got scholarships toboth universities, so I was wondering what people thought about them. Thanks :)

From being interested in both schools(have been accepted and visited both of them), I can say I have a MUCH MUCH MUCH higher opinion of Fordham. You get a little bit of a big community college feel with St. Johns, but on the flip side, I was very impressed by Fordham. On the other hand, if you are a commuter student, St. Johns isn’t bad because I hear 50 percent of kids do that. However, if you are moving 1000 miles away like me, Fordham is the best option, without question.

Fordham is certainly more academically recognized, especially for business. St. Johns is larger and more diverse and has less of a catholic emphasis. St. Johns has a very good pharmacy program. They are both in awesome parts of NYC that are very cultured and have rich histories.

While Fordham is the higher ranked school, I do not believe that should be a deciding factor in anyone’s college choice. Go back to each school for accepted student’s day. Look at the students, the academics, the specific program you want, the campus etc. and choose the school that feels right to you.

I did not get into Fordham but did get into St. Johns and even if I had gotten into both I would still chose St. Johns since there is so much more to do in the area. I also have an internship offering in Queens so maybe I am a bit biased! But you do definitely want to visit both and get a feel for the students and see where you feel more at home. I also liked the surroundings a bit more of St. Johns than Fordham, but neither of the surrounding areas are the greatest!
Good Luck!
