Hi I was accepted to Fordham and Binghamton Business programs. I like them both but want to go to the better and more prestigious school that will yield me the best job. Money is not that big of a consideration but there definitely is a difference in 20k v. 50k a year. NEED HELP!

I don’t really know anything about the business programs at either school, but Fordham is ranked higher than SUNY Binghamton according to US News and World Reports.

My brother got in to SUNY Binghamton and Temple University (in Philadelphia) and he ultimately went with Temple as he was worried that no one outside of the New York area had ever heard of SUNY Binghamton.

The other issue is that Binghamton is much easier to get into for out of state students (it may be about the same for in-state), so when you go looking for a job, people take it with a grain of salt. I know it is crazy that NYS makes it easier for out of state kids to get into Binghamton, but thats life.

thanks for the info
jme- heard the same thing about bing- being kind of unkown outside ny and that does matter to me-
kayf- good point- will consider that

My S is at Fordham and I’m a huge fan of the school but I do think that SUNY-B has a strong reputation in the Northeast so if money is a concern you need to consider it. Overall, their admissions standards seem pretty comparable to Fordham although I don’t know the in-state/out-of-state breakdown. You should be able to get a good job in NYC out of either school if you do well in college. I suggest you visit schools on admitted students day, talk to your parents about money, and then decide.
