Hi,
I'm 14 years old and I would like to take part in a foreign exchange programme to go to America, erm... I cant find out how to, i've tried to find out more about it but can't.
Can anyone here help me out?
If not my mom has suggested a private exchange so...

Is there a Rotary club in your area? A friend of mine is currently in Japan on an exchange program through that organization and by all accounts is having a great time.

Where are you from? There are a lot of exchange organizations, just help us find one in your area. Among the largest organizations are YFU ([Youth For Understanding](http://www.yfu.org)) and AFS ([AFS around the world](http://www.afs.org/afs_or/view/3145)).

I would advise against doing an exchange without an organization because you will have a lot of trouble getting a visa. (Usually your exchange organization sponsors you for a visa. If you go without one, the high school would have to sponsor you but most high schools are legally not allowed to.)
