<p>I have the option of being a foreign exchange student in Ireland next year. I'm suuuuuuuper excited and I really, really want to do it, but a friend of mine says it really screwed up her credits. I don't want to screw up my college admissions chances, especially if I could go abroad in college, but I really want to do this and I love traveling. Any thoughts as to how this would affect my admissions? Should I wait to go abroad in college?</p>
<p>lots of colleges recognize the value of stepping outside your comfort zone and going to a different country for school. personally, (as a former exchange student) it is an experience you will never forget and can be a good "hook" in college admissions, that is well worth the trouble of dealing w/ credits</p>
