Hey guys! I am a hugeeeeeee fan of foreign/indie flicks. My friends are always like what are u watching and I am like a swedish, russian, german, etc flick. So yea I was wondering if anyone here shares my passion for some flicks outside the US/relatively unknown flicks in the US.

Here are some of my favorites:
Together-Swedish film about commies (I'm not a commie...lol)
The Motorcycle Diaries-Che film from Argentina
City of God-brazillian...about the gang life in the slums of rio
Nowhere in Africa-German film....about jewish family escaping to Africa during Holocaust
East/West- Russian film...about a family leaving france to return to Russia...actually kiev, ukraine
u guys can help me with this one...some swedish film about a boy and his mom is sick and he moves in with his uncle and boxes with a tomboy.
Lucia Lucia-mexican film about a novelist learning to live life when husband leaves

how about anything almodovar?? bad education is his latest starring gael garcia bernal (star of the motorcycle diaries and y tu mama tambien amongst others)

Lagaan - A group of Indian villagers trying to outplay the British tax collectors in a game of cricket to avoid paying taxes. It has good visuals, and music....a different bollywood movie.

Taxi 1, 2 et 3 - French action film
Tais Toi - French comedy
La Haine - French about life in the HLM (french version of the ghetto)
Ong Bak - Thai karate movie (guy starring is the next bruce lee)
Ichi The Killer - Japan
Azumi - Japan

and lots of others most foreign films are better than American ones and the americans have joy emulating them such as Taxi. But, that was primarily because the director was offered money.

Au Revoir Les Enfants
Motorcycle Diaries
All About My Mother
Indochine
Central Station
City of God
Bad Education
The Wedding Banquet
...and my fave...Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon

Last night i saw Maurice Pialat's A Nos Amours. I liked it, I just think I laughed at stuff I shouldn't have been laughing at. The French are crazy. The girl wore the same three outfits for the span of 5 years, and their family always had hilarious fights. But I don't think that was the point.

I really liked mostly martha (german, about a chef whose sister dies, leaving her to take care of her niece), and das wunder von bern (also german, about a kid who follows the 1954 world cup soccer team).

ooo i saw au revoir les enfantes...about jewish boy being hidden in a catholic school....rite?
What are all of ur opinions on y tu mama tambien...i don't kno if i like it or just find it plain gross.
