Hey everyone

I was just wondering if I have to take the online placement test for Spanish even if I am planning to enroll in the beginning class. Please answer If you know. Thanks in advance! :)

you don’t have to take it yet. the first day of class your spanish tutor will tell everyone in the class to go to the site to take the placement test, but if you show that you’ve had absolutely no experience with the language in the little pre-survey thing before the actual test, the website will say you don’t have to take it. if you’ve had even just a little experience with spanish, though, you miiiight have to take it.

but yeah, don’t worry about it! you’ll deal with it once classes start up.

google “ucsd language placement test”

click on the first link

I had a similar question that I was wondering if I could post here… well… what is the best time to take the online placement exam, during summer, for an incoming freshman? there’s no exact date listed for it, so… I’m not sure what time I should take it :)

any help is greatly appreciated.

I would think taking it over the summer is better, because if you place yourself in a class lower than your capabilities, it might be difficult to switch to the correct class later on Also, you’ll waste time being in the wrong class at the beginning of the quarter.

thank you asianamy!! :)
