What language department is generally considered to have the easiest introductory/intermediate classes to fulfill the FL requirement?

Can anyone suggest some teachers that are considered to give out easy A's?

Please don't judge me. I don't usually try to look for easy classes to get by but I'm overloading and double majoring in hard majors and just want an easy to class to fulfill the FL requirement.

also, for a math minor, the prerequisite is “math 103 or the equivalent”.

Is Math 102 considered an equivalent?

kind of along the same lines, can you place out of the FL requirement?

I’ve heard Japanese isn’t that bad, and Spanish shouldn’t be that bad considering it shares a similar root to English and has a lot of cognates. Chinese and Arabic are considered to be among the hardest.

Math 102 should count towards the math minor as long as you run it through the DUS. I don’t think you can take 103 after taking 102 since it’s the same material except that 102 doesn’t have vector calculus, so it wouldn’t make sense for you to take 103 after 102.

About the FL requirement, it only requires you complete one 100-level or higher course in a FL, so if you have AP credit, you generally just have to take one more course at the 100-level. Here’s a link to the AP credit page: [AP Credit](http://t-reqs.trinity.duke.edu/apcredit.html)

Essentially you start out at a level and you keep taking courses until you have completed a 100-level or higher course or three courses, whichever comes first, to fulfill the FL requirement.

Italian is the easiest at Duke. There’s no doubt about it. You would think that Spanish is easy, but the Spanish department at Duke is very strict, and makes it not only hard but also unenjoyable. I’ve heard German isn’t too bad, either.
