Foreign Language, anyone?

I know a fair amount of people who did engineering-French - do not know why that particular combination was so popular, but it was. Someone who did that went to study abroad in France for a year - at an engineering institute - so he could do both. If you can swing that, it's the best way to do it.

I think that you have to come in with some background in the language; perhaps more engineers started off (or want to continue) with French.

Of course, while I am nowhere near fluent in Greek, I had a thoroughly enjoyable time taking it.

I think it makes sense to learn a language from a country that has a lot of engineering-related firms based in that country - like germany and japan
